Yes. I discovered a series of scratches on mine, mostly on the right side, I think. I mounted my reservoirs on the frame to alleviate the issue.

Does anyone have the part number for the bushing that goes on the top hat?
    7A3FA51A-E2F3-4A59-96CB-0F1323EDAB29.jpg
I removed the top hat when I sent the shocks to accutune for a rebuild/retune and I can’t find the damn bushing for one of the shocks :annoyed:
I have been looking online but I can’t find anything.

Question for the Fox guys, my stock SR rides rough/harsh at the start of it's travel. The truck rides jittery basically. You can feel every little imperfection in the road. Tires are SL load rated 265 Wildpeaks at 34 PSI. It rode almost the same on the stock Hankooks. On bigger hits, it's fine, not too stiff. I think it's due to stiff valving in the stock shocks. I'm looking for shocks, perhaps adjustable to soften up the ride. I'd keep the height stock or at most, go up one inch in front and zero in back to level it off. Does Fox offering anything with really soft initial stroke dampening or is custom tuned shocks an option from someone? Also, could I just use the stock springs or would I want softer ones up front? I won't be adding any "overland" gear weight. Newb questions I know but I'm new to Fox stuff and ride quality is so subjective. Off-roading will be limited in this truck, just some occasional washboard fire roads, which would also benefit from softer initial dampening in the shocks. I have a dirt bike for getting to really rough places.

Did someone say custom tuned shocks?

We can get you dialed in with a set of tuned shocks for a nice soft street ride. That will also depend on your budget. Shoot over a message and I can send over some suggestions

I have been on your website and did think about emailing! Haha. I'm no stranger to suspension tuning but it's limited to motos, mountain bikes and tuner cars. Haven't done a truck yet!

I really wish my Tacoma had the adjustability of my mountain bike, adjustable high and low speed compression, rebound, air spring curve and air spring pressure. Haha!

Just stopping in briefly to say for those of you who have DSC knobs don’t be nervous to play with your knobs. Ignore what your middle school teachers said, you won’t get hairy palms or go blind.

On a semi-related note be sure to kick your friends that touch your knobs behind your back square in the nuts. I thought I left my knobs at the default 3/3 setting after installing the lift to see how it goes. Turns out they tweaked my knobs and stiffened everything up like crazy. Don’t let your goofball buds get you stiff.

Shenanigans aside I adjusted all of them to 5/5 and drove home from work to test. Night and day difference, especially when the fronts were set at like 9 or 10 (all the way stiff) by my jagbag buddies.

Play with your knobs boys, could improve your life.

Update 7/15: I didn’t mind the 5/5 setting but still felt a little…jittery? Small bit of bump steer too. Turned down to default 3/3 and now I see why that’s the default. Much better, back to floating on a cloud but predictable handling and doesn’t nose dive. Play with your knobs!!

looking at flex it doesn’t seem necessary to extend brake lines imo. If I did 2” would be plenty and extending the emergency brake by 1-2” would also be helpful

biggest issue was getting the lower rear shock mount into the slot. Ended up trimming the bushing slightly because it would get caught on the hole and start getting wider. If I did it again I’d get the thinnest sheet metal you can find and grease everything up so it slides in real nice…there might be a joke in there

    Before/after lift
    20-7/8” driver front/ 23”
    21-1/4” pass front/ 22-7/8”
    21-1/4” driver rear/ 24.5”
    21-1/4” pass rear/ 24-3/8”

front top of upper shock mount to center of lower shock bolt 21-3/8”. So pretty perfect considering that was before putting the skid back on and front bumper still coming soon. Not sure if I’ll end up with less than 2” lift but it seems my initial measurements are higher than some others even with the skids and sliders

the back should settle more since it’s a new leaf pack but overall got essentially 2” of lift all around. Measurements fluctuate day to day so maybe I’m not measuring super accurately

Seal kits from the US should not cost much to ship, fits in an envelope, or small 2x3" box. Synthetic shock oil you can buy even at Cdn Tire.

I ended up leaving the fronts at pretty close to stock delivery, but I can tell you that messing with adjustments on the rears definitely helped clean up some chatter. I second the knob comments. Turn them all... see what happens.

Some places only ship via UPS or FedEx, so you get that nice little "brokerage fees" surprise when it's delivered. And I'm aware there is other shock oil available, but without knowing the specs on the JM92 I don't know what is comparable in terms of weight, formula, etc. I didn't want to buy the wrong stuff.

Another member was nice enough to help me out though and sent me some seals via USPS and recommended an oil to use. Got it all sorted out now.

I will probably have to do this but I wasn't sure if I could loosen the resi fittings to rotate the hose to mount on the frame

i had that same challenge figuring out what weight oil, and nitrogen pressure, when rebuilding my older Walker Evans shocks. Walker Evans was of little help.

Those shocks specifically I dont know if they have a long enough hose to properly mount them on frame. Some of the Fox 2.0 have longer hoses with a straight fitting out of the body. That fitting can be adjusted, just be careful to not lose any nitrogen or oil. https://accutuneoffroad.com/which-fitting-can-i-adjust/

@AccuTune Offroad can I purchase the Fox Reservoir mounts from y’all?. The ones that mount in the position like kings.

I'm assuming you are talking about front coilover mounts? Probably best to go through Fox for that, we dont stock those.

Yea.. I have a secondary bypass and don’t like where it mounts onto the secondary shock hoop. Tires rub on it. It has a large reservoir with multiple jic fittings.

I wanted to know if y’all could put a shorter Resi on it. 161BE4DE-7CEF-4AD0-8ADE-22D2C28430F4.jpgback when I had it zip tied. It’s mounted now

the resi is bigger than the shock body

My Fox 2.0s have the hoses coming straight out of the body, no elbows or anything. I positioned the mounts on the frame to have just a little slack in the line to kinda push back against the shock body's ability to rotate and bring the hose fitting close to the edges of the shock mount.
