Thanks and the stock crankshaft is fairly good at handling power?

 

I believe the highest recorded power was the twin turbo red Xrunner, on the OEM crank. Somewhere around 700+ whp and similar wtq numbers.

June gusset month. Welded in chassis gussets on the E36 Bimmer in the beginning of the month. What a chore that was. One part of that project that I really enjoyed was tapping the treads in the rear diff. My Gear Wrench tap set had the perfect adapter to 3/8" ratchet. Super handy! Drill the tapped to an M14x1.5 size.



Welded in plates in these 6 areas. Then added in poly bushings in the subframe.

 

Still getting my bearings on wire feed welding, but it is getting better. Startin the DMZ kit. Great opportunity to get the flame cleaned up. Removed the upper and lower rivets, then pried the layers apart. Cleaned out the junk built up, sprayed in some CorrosionX HD, clamped it back together and got to fusing things together.







Primed with Seymour weldable primer, then coated with Steelit weldbale paint. We'll see how that works with welding that gusset on, this afternoon.

 

Trying to keep this frame good for 30+ more years.

 

Ok Tor, may I ask what kind of traction setup / wheel hop is this?

Those are the Calvert Racing Caltrac bars. They have setups for the XRunner/2TR and 4x4 models. Absolutely eliminated all axle wrap.

The hinge at the front allows for proper axle articulation, without binding, nor pushing the axle away from that pivot point of the arm, as the axle raises closer to the bed, from ride height.

They do not help with lateral movement like a panhard bar or equivalent would do.

Anyone here interested in an time capsule 07 Blue X-runner w/ 9,000 miles? Sadly the owner is dreaming but it’s a rare find! Tor, here you go just put it in storage. A few years ago I would have been trying to negotiate with the seller. Now I love to still have an GM aluminum power plant w/ a Tremec installed in the 07 or find a white (best color for AZ heat) clean 1st Gen regular cab to mod & maybe Turbo some day if my better half would let me. We should save for retirement but that’s no fun…
