I’m sure if you added those 3 little raptor lights in the grill, you would be totally safe!
All drivers are shit here now. Welcome to LA. Glad you saw it coming or I’d be buying parts off your truck at the junk yard.

First thing I checked was for California plates and if she was on her phone. I forget what state I’m in with all the California and Washington plates around.

I was inspired by @Atl-atl trip to West Clear Creek, so the lady and I went up to do Sundance Canyon on Saturday.

The last rappel is 180 ft long and ends in this carved out section of the creek. It was #slickernshit on that face, so the descent was a bit ugly. It was surprising to come across a rappel so long as all of the others in that canyon are 30 ft or so.

    It's beautiful back there:

There were three massive pools of very cold water that required full on swimming. One of them had you getting fully dunked underwater because it was so deep and you basically had to slide down into it with too much momentum.

All in all, a great escape from the heat of Phoenix.

@TailHook just happened to be camping ~.5 miles as the crow flies from the canyon TH, so we swung over and chatted for a little while. Pic while on the way out:

    Stupid question, maybe...

Anyone get pulled over for a tinted license plate cover? Not one of the anti-speed camera ones, just a plain jane, 9 dollar at vatozone, lightly tinted cover that still renders the plate completely visible?

I looked at the actual law and it says you can't "obscure" the tag, which it really does not, but I'm wondering if it gets people pissy in practice.

From what I understand you really can't put anything over your plate other than license plate frames and those can't obscure the tab or the top of the plate where it says Arizona.

Yeah that's where I'm confused. Some online sources say "no covers period in AZ" but the phrasing of the law is less than clear:

    Taken directly off https://www.azleg.gov/ars/28/02354.htm

I spoke to my actual lawyer friend (not licensed in AZ, but in TX) and he says that the wording fairly clearly states that the covering is subject to the requirement that it cannot obscure numbers/characters/years etc., not that the covering is outright disallowed.

    :notsure:

Actually I identify as an HH-60G Pave Hawk, check your fixed wing privilege

I dunno, all these plate frames, surrounds and covers fit like dogshit, look crappy, or absorb every molecule of dust in the general vicinity. :annoyed:

It probably comes down to the cop. Most are, not educated in the law. For example, my buddy has been harassed more than once for having one of them black bra's on his old 98 Trans Am. Because they think it covers the headlights. Regardless of the fact that they pop up. Gets a ticket, has to go to court or now, just pays his lawyer to go. Gets it dismissed, and then basically sues the police for his time and fee's because they are to stupid to realize a simple fact.

Story time. I was camping down in Patagonia a couple months ago and we were out adventuring during the day when we saw this crazy animal that looked like an ant eater had a baby with a raccoon and its tail was like 2 feet long. When we got back into cell service we discovered it was a Coatimundi. HOW COOL!! They are crazy looking, like something you'd only see in the tropics or a zoo.
