This is actually what I do every year. Even though the price jumped up over $200 this year, they at least said when I bought the pass that The Canyons gondola is running again, so we do get access to the two resorts again. I have really missed being able to get a bunch of runs on Ricochet/Red Coat, etc without having to climb out Rosebuds Heaven.

are we sure we went to the same resort?

also, if you buy teh ticket online...you don't need to wait in line. just go to the self service machien right next to the ticket booth and scan your code that you got in your email, and et voila...you get your pass without dealing with the line.

Tidal Wave was running the best I've seen it with the lips formed up a bit. the brake bumps were gone and the berms were strengthened. some of the twist and shout sections had new lips/berms/jumps all put in. I actually talked with some of the trail crew and they told me of some of the work that they did in like the few weeks of time they had with no rain/snow. They're also actively working during the week. I was there yesterday and they were closing and opening things to work and fix things up on an off day. They also rerouted some of the entrances and were actively rerouting the pedaler's inn entrance. I think they've done a lot of work recently

but yes. the rush rebuild is absolutely amazing. the new rush line is great, i need to figure out the speed to clear those jumps and it's way easy to overcook one of the turns so...stuff to learn. I'm loving it.

That's what I was saying...the self service machines were not working on Friday, opening day. You had to wait in line regardless of the online ticket purchase. Boo!

We'll have to disagree on Tidal Wave. Deformed lips and small "trenches" up the middle of a lot of the take-offs. The outsides of the lips were fine but you're also in the weeds at that point. A few of the berms in the middle were reshaped and that was nice. I'm not expecting a sidewalk down the mountain, but some of the landings on Tidal Wave last fall were downright dangerous...craters in the middle of the landings. At least those were fixed. Overall, top to bottom condition rating, that trail gets a solid 6.

I do agree on Twist and Shout. The re-make of that trail is excellent and the trail crew deserves credit for that. It's my favorite trail up there.

After visiting some other bike parks last fall, it's hard to come back to DV and not see the lack of maintenance compared to other bike parks. And by others, I'm talking about North Star, Jackson Hole and Trestles. Some of those are bigger, some are smaller, but all of them are better maintained than DV. Maybe I'm just getting a little spoiled? It sure would be nice to have a local bike park that could hold it's own against the North Stars & Trestles of the country.

Everyone, keep your eyes open! Yesterday on Gravedigger... luckily, he didn't seem to care - he just kept on eating. I turned around anyway.

    Hey, I know that moose!

Seems like I push it out of the trees every time I ride that area. I guess that areas called Moose House for a reason!

Hey, I know him too! He was recently lounging in one of my favorite hidden jumps. He had no interest in moving, so I went back the other way. I figure, it's his moose house. We're just guests.

interesting. first day jitters for DV I suppose. They got performance anxiety. hah!

DV in previous years had gotten lazy. but they've got some more competition now with woodward and other resorts opening up for mtb lift. so they're definitely starting to ramp it up.

It's funny, I just moved back from CO and spent a good amount of time at Trestle. That place looks like it gets a lot of maintenance, but like all parks, it was in rough shape by mid-July. About on-par with DV.
PCMR pass here, way more options and much cheaper. Overall, kinda over riding park... Unless we're going to Whistler.

Umm... where's that one? You need to show me :)
I can show you some off-the-map trails if you do.

I hope so. DV its a shit-show sometimes.

Crest is on the docket for Weds or Thurs. this week. Let me know if anyone's interested. Millcreek opens Friday, so it's your last shot to get Big Water before the gate opens and hiker's jam it up.

Thanks! I'll have to check that out on the exit. The House is running well now, might have to go check it out soon.

Exactly. I've been feeling the same lately. Been having way more fun in the woods of PCMR!

I just got home from a 10-day beach vacation. I'm sunburned and lazy but ready to ride. I usually ride at PCMR on Wednesdays and Sundays...it's what works with life and kids, etc. If any of y'all want to get together sometime, let's plan something.

Damn that berm jump! Just couldn't sack up to it. Something about that compression and pop over the gap that just got in my head. :smack:
Overall had a great ride tho. Up 3 candles, Apex, 9K. Down Black Forest, Moosehouse, and the Sweeny exit.

Nice! Thats one of my favorite routes, although I'm impatient so I tend to climb fat-lip to Black Forest. And yeah, it took me a few tries before I went for that gap jump and I still don't hit it every time because after all that descending I'm typically a bit tired. Are you on Strava?

Yeah, PCMR Season Bike Haul pass went from $130 to $220 this year. Inflation sucks!!! Gives me more sympathy for my parents back in the '70s.
