I like IFS for vehicles that are going to be driven long distance, and also at speed. Theres a reason you dont see many US vehicles with sas, and that's mostly because we are on the road so much.

But I do like SAS for durability and for crawling.

I miss my old heep of shit 93 Sahara.

Whoops. I was having trouble translating your question.

Yes. Off-road the Jeep shines. I believe Chris and I kept calling it a mule all day. I was certainly more comfortable doing more sketchy stuff in it. Is it because the different in suspension? I really don't know. The Tacoma and Jeep and two entirely different vehicles in more than just front suspension set-up.

We tried to get Dave's front tire on top of Chris' rear tire when he was flexing on the side of a hill. We couldn't quite pull it off, would've made for a great pic.

I've got a PDR question for Chris. If course it's impossible to say without getting your hands on it, but is something like this fixable with PDR? Being right on two creases is what makes me so unsure. This isn't off of my truck, I'm just asking for a curious friend of mine. He destroyed his current tailgate and can scoop up this one for $150.

I should have just floored it. That's the answer according to Colin McRae.

He's gonna buy it regardless, $150 is a steal. His current plan is to just cut out that section from his current tailgate and weld/blend it into the new one since he's a fabricator. I was just curious at the feasibility of it just being popped back out because that would be a much better repair IMO.

The metal can definitely be reshaped to maybe 90%. The paint is under a lot of stress and has a good probability of cracking when it’s flexed in the opposite direction to be fixed. Its something I would attempt but not expect to be perfect. But that being said it’s definitely worth $150 and even if you have to put a little touch up paint on it

    is it aluminum?

He’s planning on repainting it white to match his truck anyways so that’s not too much of a concern, thanks for the input! I believe it’s steel.

No problem! Steel will be easier to reshape.

Life is good - he may have been referring to dirt bike wreck that threw me pretty hard about a month ago. Got a referral for PT/orthopedic DR but I’m a “dumdum” and haven’t gone yet haha.

Can’t complain tho.. my 74yo granddad snapped his leg clean in a 4-wheeler accident and was laying there for ~30 pinned under it before someone heard him.C27F6321-07EF-4E56-BEB3-DD4EDC214848.jpg

Tiff and I are trying to hit 12k miles on the bikes in the first year of ownership so that’s been keeping us busy. I’ve been meaning to show you this sweet whip we found on our last ADV’n camping trip. 4wd SR5 in great condition. 4C503A53-34BB-44BB-875B-99661B303A40.jpg
