Remote start you say? Damn it! I usually set the parking brake and have it in 2nd gear. Don’t want to come back to work and my truck is against the building. Might need to risk it.

There is a small process to set it before getting out to confirm the truck is in neutral.

Foot on brake -> Put in neutral -> Set parking brake -> foot off brake -> turn off key (truck stays running) -> get out (when last door closes the truck shuts off) -> ready for remote start.

I’ve been considering putting it in my tundra.. but I’ve never had a vehicle with it so I don’t really know what I’m missing

Oh there will be some mods all right
I absolutely love it. If it's extremely hot out you can have the vehicle cool down for you before you get in, and if it's extremely cold out then you can have your vehicle already warming up for you, and I also really like being able to unlock the vehicle from anywhere. For example I was watching off-road races and I brought extra stadium chairs for the people who were coming with me but I didn't feel like carrying them all. I just told the people to text me once they got there and then I unlocked my truck for them so they could grab the stadium chairs while I was already watching the races.

That's funny, I guess when you have a subscription to safety connect you still have the fob remote start you just can't use your phone.

Speaking of being hot out.. i just put ceramic tint on the tundra, makes a huge difference in how hot it gets sitting out in the sun. Especially since i have leather seats

Maintenance day: PS flush and change for front and rear diff plus transfer case. Then a quick check to see that it all works properly...

Sounds like a challenge... Might need a partner in crime for that to exist.

Don't worry you are still part of the 2nd Gen grayscale/monotone paint club, you're cool too.

But also silver is the best color, no bias at all.
