    I should think so :(

    Which reminds me...

    Story Time With Gritto

    I got nothing against snakes.
They eat rodents, so... okay fine.
But why anyone would want to make a pet of one is something I just don't get.

I recall two times when a snake got in the house. Mrs Gritto was not amused.
    (No, I didn't kill them).
Once it was a Garter snake. No problem.
The other one was a Bull snake.
Not certain on the identification and this is a bit outside their supposed range... but that's what people here call them.

Anyway, it was a small one but very belligerent.
I had a time getting that one out of the house.
I wore heavy gloves, cuz he was real bitey. :p

Then there's the story that Mrs Gritto loves to tell...

    One day Mrs Gritto says:
"Hey, the cats have a snake cornered on the carport."
    [translation: do something about it]

Me: "Aw, is my wifey afwaid of a widdle snake?"
    Mrs Gritto: [glares]

So I nonchalantly go out to establish my manliness.
Cats are jumpy and circling around, little snake is coiled up menacingly.
    I reach down...

Fuck, it's a baby rattler!

Mrs Gritto: "Aw, is my hubby afwaid of a widdle snake?"
Me: [glares] Bring me a broom.

I grab a 5 gallon bucket and whisk the rattler into it.
Then I put a lid on the bucket, take it way into the woods and release it.
    Buh bye.

Timber rattlers are protected in PA.
But you know, they've always been very polite to me in the woods, giving me ample warning.
    [Bzzzzz]
So I wasn't gonna kill it.

OTOH, if it had been a Copperhead...

You have nothing to worry about, down there in the flatland.
Timber Rattlers den up in rockfalls on talus slopes, typically.
And they never go very far from their Winter dens.

What you need to watch out for are Copperheads.
Much more common, no warning buzz and they stay still rather than try to get out of the way.
I stepped on one once and almost stepped on others.

    Copperheads ain't protected :infantry:

I probably have to worry more about getting run over by the neighbor in his Kubota UTV more than anything

Started with the full body ache late on a Friday, Saturday woke up with a 101.5 temp, spent all day Saturday in bed. Sunday my fever was gone and didn't feel near as bad. Monday stayed home and laid around. Never had any sickness other than not feeling good and the temp.
