    Anyone ever have issues from the resi's/lines/fittings leaking? I bought my coilovers in June and installed them a month or 2 after. Went to make an adjustment on the compression knobs today (by hand), and while I was going to the full "open/loose" position so I could count my clicks in from there, I randomly started spewing shock fluid. Now both compression knobs act like they dont want to get a very good bite, and attempting to move them results in the blue kool aid rushing out all over the place. Did I somehow lose a seal or have a thread failure?

    Sounds like the parts that hold the HSC adjuster into the resi housing properly weren't setup right at the factory. There's a seal behind it, and if the shaft comes out (purple adjuster is probably sticking out from the resi now compared to the other side) then oil leaks out. Call Dobinsons for the warranty process. 305-424-8353

    Purple adjuster is definitely sticking out just as you mentioned. Unfortunate as it's right in the middle of hunting season here. It appears to have stopped leaking for now though. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what happens.

    @Crikeymike

    What spring & leaf setup with the IMS shocks would you recommend for ~700lbs of armor?

    2nd gen double cab short-bed

    125lb front bumper
    200lb rear bumper
    250lb full skids
    130lb sliders

    Hey man.

    IMS59-50220 with C59-352, set anywhere from 2" up to 3", depending what height you want. Add UCA's if you go 2.5" or more.
    L59-111-R rear leaf springs with IMS59-50940 would get you a solid 2"+ of lift in the rear with that weight. Add bushings and u-bolts too.

    Those parts and all other options are here: https://exitoffroad.com/product/dobinsons-tacoma-ims-kit-for-2005-to-2021-4x4-access-double-cabs/

    @Dureatz you might consider the 354 coil if you'd like the lift on the higher side. It's only 1/4" longer than the 352.

    No dig on Mike here since he's always super helpful with information.

    I do NOT recommend getting the greasable bolts from Dobinsons for a 2nd gen. I was only able to use two of the four I bought to attach the shackle to the hanger. When I tried to install them in the front, the bolts were too big.

    I contacted Dobinsons and after several weeks between each email and finally getting dimensions, they are out of spec in my mind, but I guess since it's automotive products, a very wide margin of error is "fine" and I was recommended to drill out the mounts on my frame.

    Sorry, but I'm not dropping my gas tank, buying a right angle drill and bits to install bolts that were claimed to be installed by just swapping with the OEM ones.

    Eventually Dobinsons stopped responding, so I'm sitting on wasted money with two greasable bolts I can't use... So if you're looking for a set for the rear, let me know.

    @Crikeymike

    Just wanted to say thanks. I installed my kit today after it was sitting in the garage since late January.
    I had the Bilstien TRD system on and the Dobinsons system rides so much better.

    @Crikeymike I’ve had my set of MRR’s installed and had a bit of time for them to settle. It seems like I’m topping out the on the front right when I go over speed bumps. I know I need to start with lowering the front right side, but is there anything else I should do?

    My measurements to the center of the hubs are: Front left: 24”, Rear left: 23.5”, Front right: 24.5”, Rear right: 23”.

    Yeah, you're about 1" higher than you should be. Taking 1/2" of preload out of them is where I'd start. 23" up front is a 3" lift, and that's the most I'd put into a Tacoma if it were mine.
