This is the downside to wax for sure. It won't do as well as a traditional lube in the wet.

I started waxing while living in Nova Scotia on the coast and still preferred it. A single ride in the pouring rain will do in a chain. A few river crossings may do in a chain as well. But...with a traditional lube after a ride that wet you'll usually have to degrease and lube anyway (unless you're the type who just keeps adding lube) whereas the wax you just take the chain off and throw a clean one on. Dirty one goes into the crock pot again. If you're doing a super-long ride in the rain you will likely be better served with a traditional lube however.

Lol. I know this thread is mostly mountain bikers but as someone who has been racing drop bar bikes at reasonably high levels for most of his life things like efficiency are always in the back of my brain.

Plus waxing keeps the dingles away. God forbid they accumulate into a tower!

What is old is new again. I remember when the 29 inch craze was starting, Trek built a 69er with a 29 inch front wheel in a 26 inch rear mullet, much more aggressive. The thing looked like a penny farthing… and it was SS.

I'm still thoroughly enjoying the bike, who knows when they'll add a frame only option, but from what I've read they will make you buy their wheels and bars with it which makes sense since most people don't have a set of 12x157

I used this coupon, I wanted to try some higher rise bars. Plus oneup is free shipping and tax free for me.

Okay, everyone.. Now I'm going to search B-Tension loosening, which it might just say add thread locker.

Just set the limit correctly and glob some JB weld on it. Won't come loose again!

Well the package shipped today so I guess I'm good. Bought one of those dumb overpriced Sprinters this week so I'll probably just put it on that for now

I think you are using SRAM, are you using the b-screw alignment tool?

Edit: Its not needed, but can be super helpful when chasing setup.

Picture? I've seriously considered trading the tacoma in for a 4x4 one. Do I need 4x4, no except when I do after a rain and I need to get to that jobsite next day.

Sram changed from that tool to a new white one that fits on the largest cog and measures b tension while chain is on second from tallest gear.

There is a white Eagle 52T tool
There is a blue AXS tool

even AXS now comes with the white one. I think SRAM decided to standardize the tool.

Now if they would quit telling people to check it at sag, that requires 3 people

I’ve seriously been looking at vans but there are like no new vans within like 200 miles of me. Some ram pro masters but no fords or sprinters
