They only connect to 2.4ghz not 5ghz. So you’ll need a dual band router. Found this out when trying to connect my buddy’s new 700.

Edit: I didn’t read your whole post…I see you figured it out

Both routers are dual band and the bands are split out. IDK what the issue is, maybe some new functionality in the AX standard?

Strange, especially if you have your bands split. That’s how my old router was, my new one I set up so the device could choose the stronger signal…but that comes with its headaches too lol. I don’t think rectec has updated their wifi module in a while, it’s probably needed now. As for my buddy, he has one of those all in one modem/routers from the cable company and it’s 5ghz only so he’s SOL

My washer, dryer, and an older TV won't connect to my WiFi 6 network. I'm going to try your hack with them.

What up everyone. Didn't know this thread existed, or more so forgot it did, but was reminded by @Kilo Charlie. I found a dilapidated smoker on the side of the road a few months back, it had good bones and I'd been wanting to try smoking for awhile so I fixed it up and have been having a blast. I've done ribs, a few butts, bunch of salmon and steelhead, chicken, and today the first brisket.

Surprisingly steelhead has been my favorite, simple rub and a few hours on the smoker and it has an amazing taste. I've found that most recipes say to leave the rub on waaay long, it only needs an hour or two, otherwise it's too salty.

I don't trust those campsite grill / fire pits so I take a Smoky Joe with me when we go camping.

    How did it turn out?

Did two racks of ribs and two apple pies on the pellet grill. Love me some smoked apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

I unfortunately didn't take any photos so I suppose it never happened.

Cleanliness mostly, and that they won't get bits of rust or other foreign objects in my food. It's probably paranoia but it makes me feel better to use my own grill.

I cleaned it pretty well then heated/flamed the grate to burn anything off the night before. Looked good to me.

Turned out really well. Didn’t get a lot of smoke but I was more concerned with temp control so I had to move the wood around quite a bit.

I ended up finishing it on my portable LP grill due to running out of time.

Makes sense. When I use them I get it super hot and let it burn off the funk before cooking on them.
