Who all knows anything about mopeds? I’m looking for one, preferably with larger wheels (I have no idea the standard sizes), top tank if possible.

Driving: to and from work, 1.5 miles, grocery store 0.5 miles, etc.

    Electric would be acceptable.

    Price range under a grand.

Clarification: I know NOTHING about mopeds, which is why I am asking

i know my buddy was looking at starting to stock those electric bicycles at his shop. you can get them for like $4k but he was looking at some that seemed easy to work on (from a dealership perspective) for $1200. i know they're popular with rv peepo

Yeah I might lean that direction, way cheaper AND I think I can be exempted on taxes, I assume RI would tax the moped as a tangible assett, so a bike would be about 1/4 the cost at the most, no taxes, etc. TBD.

Yeah unless I am reading it wrong (which I might be) in order to be a registered moped in RI, it needs to have pedals that can propel it o_O which wouldn’t surprise me if they said “everythign else including below 50cc is also a motorcycle now, so pay us more to register it neener neener.”

E bikes are allowed and there are some restrictions, but for my 1.5 mile commute and 0.5 mile ride to the shop, I think I can be fine with a smaller/slower one if I needed to :D

We’ll see. I have a decent bicycle for this right now, the moped was just an idea I had and if I can get one for like 750 or less, I might let ‘er rip, otherwise bicycle it is!

Would be nicer for when I run home at lunch too when it’s 95 degrees out. :|

Well...major truck mods that haven't been purchased yet have all just been put on hold. Thankfully I don't think there's anything major I wanted to do anytime soon that isn't already waiting to be installed. I'm adding a new vehicle to the fleet, let's play a game - It's orange.
