I'm going to bring back out of the shop and I'll get a better picture. I just took it in the shop to see if it would fit in the chuck with that ball nut on there.

Sometimes I dive into conversations with the guys at work about this subject, while they talk politics all the time, I don’t agree with most of them, and have no interest in arguing about it at work (or anywhere else for that matter). I always have the same point of view on this topic though. One guy will say, “ my kid is always on their phone” or someone will say “kids are always on their phones, I’d never have gotten away with that!” My response is usually something like,” if you didn’t want your kid on the phone why did you buy it?” I feel like a lot of parents will complain about their child’s behavior and take zero responsibility for the bad, and want credit when their kid does something mildly correct. I feel there’s a fine line between friendship and parenting at times, but if all the kid wants to do is watch cartoons and play video games every day, and you as a parent let them play video games from the time they’re 6 until 17, why the hell would the all the sudden be like, “you know what, I’m sick of someone else paying the bills, and doing my laundry, and making me food, and letting me borrow their car that always has gas in it, I’m going to go work at McDonald’s for 40 hours a week instead!”?
Not that it’s always the parents fault of course, but I feel at times at least some of the guys I work with do not even consider the fact that their child’s behavior is exactly like their own, and 100% their fault.

I take a good portion of responsibility for the way my son is. Thing I did wrong was after the third time of trying to correct him during his youth, when mother intervene and defend him, I threw up my hands and said, ok then you can deal with it.

Easy to see that has been cracked for some time!

Depending on who put the lock nut on 50/50 they might have took notice.

I’m trying not to do this, but she needs to be a little stricter. Drives me nuts.

I bent down to get a piece of metal and raked my head across a piece of pipe.

Spoiler for those that don’t like a little bit of blood. It’s really not that bad, just long.

I 100% agree with you but.....
Some kids just have it. They have drive, they have ambition....some don't. And the ones that don't; they can't (easily) be changed. You can preach it, teach it, encourage it...some are just going to be lazy. I think it's in their DNA.
Granted, we have to be as good of role models as possible, and that definitely makes a difference; but kids are going to go in whatever direction they choose, and if they rebel....well, some are just going to do that regardless of how well they were raised.
Its a crap shoot I tell ya!

Can I spoiler post a pic of my brother's finger? It's pretty ruff....
