I finally got my GFC installed and now I've been toying around with a couple ideas for the long bed -- putting down some interlocking mats, maybe getting some carpeting, plank of wood with astroturf glued down, et cetera.

All the refrigeration/kitchen racks, 80/20 framing, shelves, DECKED systems, Goose gear plates, et cetera are also exceedingly interesting to me.

But before I commit, I thought I'd throw it out to all y'all and ask: Nice Bed, What Did You Do With It?

    post photos! I wanna see!

Currently planning out a drawer system to build, myself. Interested to see what others have come up with!

Fitting thread, just took this picture this afternoon.

I am rocking a DCLB, though I made the better decision and purchased an Alucab Canopy Camper (I kid, I kid).

Fully custom build to suit my needs. I am not a fan of 'filling' up the bed with all those drawers and panels that come with pre-fabbed kits.

My interior is not finished, but it works well for now. Furnace goes in next, and then I will build permanent storage out of 8020

I use mine as a truck.
    I haul trash.
    I haul wood.
I had lots of straw and mulch.
Right now I am hauling luggage and clubs for vacation.
I hauled quarter inch steel plate a few weeks ago.
So, I use it as a truck.

8020 comes up over and over. I liked the builds I've seen, with this stuff.

I've got a topper with a roof rack, attached an awning to it, and put in the decked drawer system. It's perfect for what I do (mostly solo hiking/truck camping), and the drawer system is really great.

Do you feel like you lose a lot of space with the decked or does it still give you enough storage?

I do lose a bit of space in the back, certainly a topper with a rise on it would have been a better option. But I can still largely use the bed for what I want - I can still haul my bike and gear, it does fit my little boat and motor to.

My bed is most definitely not nice. It contains:
    • One bed mat
    • Six light-duty tie down rings (around the cubbies), for bungee securing small items.
    • Four OEM rail tie downs, for ratchet strapping large items.
    • One fire extinguisher
I prefer equipping for generalist applications. The opposite of specialist builds. It isn't sexy, but it's far more useful. :cookiemonster:

Plant some nice flowers and finish off with some hardwood mulch and I think you'll be done! :)

A few, mainly added skids. I like leaving the suspension alone. I drive forest service dirt roafs in the desert west extremely extremely too fast. Toyota nailed this suspension going 65 across desert terrain. Changing it is dumb unless you have a specific need like crawling or mud.
I use mine as a party station.
