I thought about Triumph Tiger. I was already scared away by the price of BMW and KTM. I havent ridden anything else. Didnt even test ride the AT before getting it.

But I wanted to get away from british or australian or german or italian. I thought about the Super Tenere too, but it looked really big. And I wasnt a fan of how the Vstrom looked.

I was mostly looking at cost of ownership from the Big 3 japanese bikes. I hadnt seen much on the Tenere 700, but that would have been another viable choice for me. But I think @w.adventures just told me it doesnt have cruise control, which Im learning is a big thing.

I was all over the place with figuring things out, but I feel like in the end, the AT was the best deal. And even in their 4 models, the one I chose is the best for me. I know I didnt want DCT, didnt need the bigger tank or electronic suspension for $3k more. I guess tubeless tires would have been nice, but now that I have it figured out, Im ok with tubes. $14,300 + tax/tags, delivery is not a bad deal at all in my book. And I get compliments every day. Everyone tells me its an amazing bike, ready to go anywhere in the world. I wanted an offroad focus, touring capable (or more-so than the Scrambler), japanese big 3 reliability, and affordable package. The rest of the features, I need to figure out, but thats part of learning the bike. Im 100% stoked on the buy, and how the build is turning out so far.

Sounds like solid reasoning and application to me, man. Been fun to watch you build it up.

I too eyeballed the T7 for a long time and ended up not getting one.

I too have been spoiled by cruise control ha.

If the Tiger Sport had cruise I may have test rode it. At the end of the day I realized for me I prefer a light bike good for off road and a bike specifically for on road more so than one in between :)

I was talking to my coworker today about what bike I wanted next(he really wants a Honda) and I mentioned my next bike was going to be a Tenere 700 but I also really wanted a supermoto. Was telling him about how I want to go on adventures but want a supermoto to hooligan it up. As I was talking to him I realized I am a long way away from actually taking adventures on a tenere 700 with my young kids that I want to spend as much time as possible with. Supermoto it is next! I would be willing to get rid of the Grom and my KTM 200 for a WR450f with a street and supermoto setup.

I've been at "supermoto is my next bike" for the last 3 to 5 bikes haha. It's always up next! Sooner or later. Eventually :)

I really didn’t want to change the oil every 600 miles on a wr450f but I have only ridden the Grom 1100 miles in the last 2 years.

Usually around September then new models will be released, there’s a vid on YouTube from Spain I think that show the 23 AT but it looks like a 22 AT. Unless it’s the same… idk tho. My main bike is a 16 r6 with 45k on it, still truckin!

Those gravel roads we hit are perfect for practicing locking the back. I almost lost the front today forgetting that the 750 won’t let you lock the rear :bananadead:

I also have very exciting news - my wife (Tiff) is confidently riding my 1200gsa as of this afternoon.:bikewhoops:
    Couldn’t be more excited!

Nope… so dumb. It has rain/ road/ dynamic/ enduro. Enduro lets you stop great but not let you whip the tail out, like locking the rear will allow you. It’ll let you turn off traction control - so you can whip it around all day long with throttle, just don’t expect to do the 180 skid turn using the same technique as the video.

You could sell me that SV. :D That would give you a nice chunk towards a WR450f.
