Absolutely love it. I see you’re from Oregon as well and it’s perfect for our potholed up forest roads. I literally can drive twice as fast as I could on stock suspension and feel half as much. It filled a gap that imo needed filling in the market, soaks up big potholes at speed way better than your standard basic OME Nitro/similar setups and is more cost effective, and to me more importantly more durable and less maintenance intensive, than stuff like Fox or Kings that are overkill for our area because we don’t have the space or sightlines to go fast enough to need them.

285/70/17s, Rocktrix wheels with a -12 offset. Ended up needing a CMC and a tiny bit of trimming. no rubbing at all now.

try 255/85/r16 or 255/80/r17 it’s a 33” tire and you won’t have all the problems with rubbing that comes with the wides 285.

With a minor lift, I run stock 4 runner SR5 wheels with Falken Wildpeak 285/70r17 muds. It's my summer setup (truck mainly sees off road stuff in the summer). Required only some heat gun work on the fender liners, and replacement of the stock mudflaps for something thinner.

Mileage and acceleration take a hit, but in summer I'm all truck stuff (no commute).

I've got a small lift and run 265/75/16. When they need replaced I'll probably go to 285/85/16.

I think he 265s I have look great, I just want the truck to be a slight bit taller

Depends on your use. If you are carrying extra weight and air down off-road a lot, E load is your friend. E loads are a bit heavier and ride a bit stiffer, but that’s the price you pay.

If you spend most of your time on road and barely go off-road, SL rated will be just fine.

C load is in the middle. Not as tough as E but tougher than SL. I’ve had good luck off-road with C load KO2s. I’m running a bit heavier now so E load it is.

I highly doubt it. Unless it’s a brand new offering.

To actually answer your question… there is nothing wrong with E load tires. I have 275/70/17 BFG A/T K02 on both my 98 4Runner and 2020 Tacoma. I saw negligible fuel economy decrease, a slightly firmer ride. Nothing significant in a negative sense at all. The benefit is a MUCH stronger tire that basically looks like 285s. Sure it may be “overkill” for mall queens, but this is a truck. If you use it like a truck, and do a little wheeling, you can do so with more confidence. I have seen numerous C load tires puncture on trails here in Colorado. Most people crying about E load tires have never had them - they just perpetuate false truths from the countless baseless posts on TW and other forums.
