Northern Virginia Roll Call

No rush, but anyone know of a legit electrician (legit as in honest work) that is willing to come to stafford? I want to get my electric panel set up for my generator. I have all the panels and stuff....just need the electrician cause I'm not touching that stuff. My jarhead luck....I'd get a sting that would straighten my hair out like beaker!

 

We have someone out of Aquia Harbour that was highly recommended to us and has done work for us. Although our jobs were small, probably at least worth a call. Message me if you want his contact info.

Oh, you know...waiting on Toyota to get their actual shit together. Coming up on 7 months since I "ordered" my truck! SMMFH.

Also, today was my Friday too...holiday weekend coming up.

 

Dang! 7 months?. That’s crazy. I hope the 4th gen isn’t out by the time you get yours.

 

Are you going with an interlock switch to allow for any circuit to be powered? Or are you getting a subpanel? Interlock switch is the way to go so you can power whatever is needed if your generator is smaller.

 

Has anyone been at Peters Mill/Taskers Gap recently? Friend got a new BMW and is trying to prep before heading out west to ADV Fest. Going Saturday morning if it doesn't rain...

I was up there with @crashdb a few weeks ago, ran south to north. They have moved parts of the trail I was previously on to different tracks. We aired down about 10 pounds. Trail wasn't in bad condition and wider that I remember. The mid hole at the north end is no longer part of the trail. Went on a Tuesday and it was pretty quiet. Still need the day pass. This help?

 

Have a 10 switch sub panel to just power what I need instead of everything I don't want. Things like well pump, water heater, refrigerator. We have propane fireplace and range so that covers the heat. Just want water after that.
Diesel is my 3rd fuel for this generator and tractor. If it's good enough to deploy to the forward operatings bases for the Corps....it's good enough for me!

 

Not as bad as last year with some minor improvements. But still turning into a very rocky trail. Friend had fun and got major props from other 2 wheelers taking a 700lbs bike on a trail.

11KW should power your entire house! I am running a 7KW unit and it will run most everything; I just kill circuits to allow pump or AC to run as needed. Big fan of interlock switches instead of sub-panel so things can be powered or not with my smaller generator. Interlock kit was 50$ or so for my panel and father assisted in putting it in.

 

Anybody else know what this is? Chuckled a bit as I have a few of those plastic ones in the basement.

 

Reminds me of summers at my grandparent's building model planes, cars, ships, etc. Pretty sure nobody does that anymore lol

Who did something cool for the 4th?

 

I went mountain biking in the morning, and at night we watched fireworks on the peoria lakefront. Apparently its the largest fireworks show in Illinois, so that was pretty neat.
