I worked in cost accounting off and on for various industries over the past few decades.

One thing that always shocks me is how little profit is made per unit on most things. I mean after operating costs are included.

So many companies just go on year after year surviving on low interest financing while not making a single dime in profit.

I can’t think of a single manufacturer (including oil companies) that even comes close to the net margins of Google and Facebook, which are monopolistic companies with government ties. We think live in a capitalist society, but we don’t.

when’s it’s all said and done, they probably aren’t making as much as you’d think from those wipers

Guys. If $20 is going to break you maybe you should take up walking. Gas is $5 So if you walk 20 miles you save $5, if you want to save your wipers. Some YouTube says treat with wd40…. But that’s like $5.
If you smoke you can pay for your wipers with 1 1/2 packs. Or a couple less beers. Live life and enjoy.

I'm not poor. I buy OEM stuff for the most part. I just thought that the price had increased dramatically since I last purchased them. I'm kind of sorry that I posted lol. This is obviously inflation caused by Putin.

It was higher than that on our prius after toyotacare ran out....and that was back around 2014-2015. Wife had it done along with the oil change and cabin filter. It was the last trip for service that care saw there.

Is $20 a lot of money? No. Does it suck having to pay $20+ for something that used to cost a fraction of that? Yes. Inflation is a bitch.

If someone tried to charge you $20 for a beer, it wouldn't "break you", but you ain't gonna be happy about it.

You don’t even save money using oempartsource. It’s $12 shipping, putting the (x2) $5 at over $20. Better to just get them at the dealer and not have to worry about the mail losing them.

I guess you save $20 bucks by moving to southern California. I heard it never rains there.

It's like 3 gallons of gas. I was at the dentist the otherday, and to my surprise there was a copy of Car & Driver. In that issue of C&D there was a Winstin cigarette ad. I haven't seen a cigarette ad in IDK how long, but I can see why someone would start smoking after seeing that ad

    4 dollars difference.. that's nothing.

A friend of mine is nuts because he bought 40 dollars which cost 20 dollars each blade.

Costco in Scottsdale AZ had regular for 4.93 a gallon. First time it's been under $5 in months! :spending:

I “good” set of blades at Walmart will run you $20+ and they won’t fit or work as well as the OEM.
