I just got home and jacked it up. Rocking it at 12 and 6 o’clock-no movement. Rocking 9-3: there’s movement. So, it would appear as though there’s tie rod slop on that side.

I wouldn’t be surprised either if that is playing a part in the rattle/rubbing sound I’ve been chasing mostly when turning right. It’s going to toyota on Saturday anyway, so I’ll show them the video of the movement and let them fix it. :fingerscrossed:

Toyota Trucks of Arkansas will be sponsoring a trail at Hot Springs Off-Road Park. One of the more popular (e.g. visible) trails will be named after Toyota Trucks of Arkansas. I will be receiving a list of eligible trails to select. Also, Hot Springs Off-Road Park has become an official sponsor for the Toyota Trucks of Arkansas July 23rd event. They sponsor us, we sponsor them, and we all have a good time.

In a hilarious note, the dealership says everything is tight in the front end and nothing's wrong. Even after I went down there and showed them a video I took of the wheel wiggling between 3 and 9 o'clock. -______-

    Yeah.
Maybe your steering wheel moved back and forth when you did it? Unless you had the other side on the ground or braced your steering wheel with something, it's possible that it just moved the steering wheel and everything is fine. They'd likely make more money telling you that you need new tie rod ends or a steering rack replacement.

I guess I wouldn't rule it out. I'm going to have the balance on all the tires checked. If they're balanced fine, I'll just keep driving it and see what happens.:fingerscrossed:

    Yeah.
LOL, that looks like an awesome way to fall in your own poo. I've graduated from the shovel and hike method to the bucket method taught by @TerraNerva.

I am currently dealing with this same thing on Nitto Ridge Grapplers E rated. I have had them balanced far too frequently along with alignment too. Had them balanced again today and he told me it was most likely suspension related. I My springs are too stiff upfront and am about to change them too 600lb springs and hope that helps. The tires are not really loud and you can feel the rough ride. Too pricey to be dealing with this shit. Post if you find out something different. I only have 33k miles on the truck.

Definitely don't like the ridge grapplers I have. Got a good deal on them but I will not be buying them again. Getting weird cupping on the truck with stock suspension and only 57,000 mi, but the other truck with the larger ridge grapplers is doing just fine.

We have a similar, but not as severe, issue on my wife's 4Runner with E rated Duratracs. 25k on them and just noticed it on this rotation. Vehicle has 75k with original suspension. I thought it might be a toe issue.

I've only got steel sliders and an IFS skid, and I have 730lb coils from Dobinsons. Most everyone says it doesn't need it, but mine's also a DCLB. I've had to play around with coils because of the wheelbase, I think. I never got the lift height Dobinsons advertised when I was at the given weight. Always sagged. I think more of the cab being forward of the middle point of the wheelbase is what causes it to not be lifted as much. They may also play into the ride I get with 730lb coils. Everyone complains about them, but it's decently nice on mine.:notsure: The medium duty Dakar leaf pack in the rear is way rougher riding, even with plenty of weight.

I'm going to have the tires balanced right after work today, and hopefully, they'll say that the one tire was balanced quite poorly.

My tires were off as follows in ounces: 0, 7, 5, 3. The one that looks particularly bad was the one off by 3 ounces. That doesn't mean much to me, but the guy that balanced them acted like that was a lot. :notsure:

I'll take a little of @TenBeers theory and try running about 5 psi higher. Give it a few thousand more miles and see what's happened. :fingerscrossed:

Got to see some Global Road Outdoors products at Mud Connection 4X4 yesterday.

I think it is really cool that our TTOA event is sponsored by both Global Road Outdoors and Mud Connection 4X4. Good for our members and both sponsors.
