Late on the reply here, but last night was beers after work with my boss and coworkers, then date night, margs, and delicious food with my lady.

I dig your home gym setup! Yours is nice and neat, and you have some great pieces there. If you’re like me, you’re not missing lifting in a public gym even a little bit. You mentioned pulling sumo in one of you other posts. Did you use to compete?

Haha, no.

Not for a long time, and likely never, given the state of things. I work from home on Fridays, and I’m trying to walk in the mornings on the days I’m not in the gym.

 

My last job taught me well that my time is almost always worth more to me than it ever will be to my employer as far as compensation goes.

Spending a little more than a third of my waking life with work people and not my family, friends, or just myself is more than enough.

 

Took me some time to figure that one out, cause you know...money is always nice.

But that all changed last year.

Quality of life has been better since.

 

Also, got 75/25

 

QOL is obviously heavily dependent on having some money. But it’s so true that it won’t get you all the things that really make life fulfilling, almost ALL of which require time more than money.

I know it’s always been tough for me to find and maintain that balance, for sure.

 

Very true.

Some people in my position may just not work at all, whereas others may find a desire to make a lot more still pull 50 or 60 hours a week.

Wants and needs...

 

Each day I stray closer to selling our shit, renting the house out and living on the road for a year. No jobs, no real plan. Just living.

And it all boils down to each individual’s priorities.

Me, I’m definitely more of a ‘work to live’ guy. Never derived much of my worth and value from my job, but I’ve known plenty of people who have. It’s usually pretty shitty for them when the job goes away or they don’t get that promotion.

 

On a side note, I found the "entry" of the ground squirrels that have been coming to our yard.

I don't know of an exit hole, as it's over the fence and into private property, but I'm half tempted to smoke them out and/or kill them in their own home.
