Well… The chain saw was running very good, chain wasn’t sharp, it’s leaning over a house so we winched it over.

And right after the stereo was installed I got a blow-out on 80 E heading to Sacramento, so I put 4 new tires on the truck, too.

Tweaked a couple previous mods for "old guy convenience camping" after a bunch of my stuff was stolen out of the garage. More details in the usual place.

Built another inflator, this time with a second hose to fill two tires at once.

Added a little bity switch in the RTT for my LEDs, which I previously had to turn on/off from a switch located in the bed - doable, but inconvenient.

Okay, installed a new oem upper/ lower radiator hose, oem thermostat and oem rad cap. As well as flushing the system again. And all new coolant. Taking it out tomorrow to camp this weekend so we will see if the temp problem has been fixed.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Is the temp problem with the coolant system or the transmission? Or, both?

Both, but seperate. Although I think the trans is in a much better place now with the divorced cooler. And coolant system is still technically okay, as it’s within normal operating temps, just recently more on the hot side. So I think my weekend trip will give me a better feel for how things are looking.

Right on. I thought so, but it seemed the subject kept jumping back and forth from trans to radiator... that all makes more sense (to me) now.

When I was having a lot of problems running hot, I found that the lower radiator hose was collapsing under harder throttle. I put a spring in it, that wont allow it to collapse, that seemed to help. I haven't had any problems since.

I did some other stuff to address the heat issues as well, but the spring seemed to make an immediate impact.

It was yes, and I boiled it after, seemed to work fine. So I don’t think that will be doing anything.
