Had to replace my AC compressor. Other than leaf springs this is the only thing I’ve had to replace on my truck. It’s a 2013 TRD off road. I purchased it 3 years ago with 25k miles on it. It has 108,000 miles now. Runs perfect. Just because I figured it was long overdue, I changed out the original plugs tonight. Curious If I’ll notice a difference in the morning….other than the AC working now. Btw, still has original brake pads which still don’t appear to be in need of changing. Normal for Tacomas?

Plugs don’t look too bad for 100k.

As for the brakes, yeah. It’s not uncommon to see the fronts last 100k.
Mine didn’t last that long, but I pull a trailer a lot too.

It definitely common for the rears to go 100k+
I’m still on the OEM rears at 154k. But they are getting thin.

Assuming it just slipped your mind that you probably also changed things like oil, oil filter, air filter, tires.

I believe 100k is when coolant is supposed to be changed. I’d also take a look at the rear brake shoes. If you hope to make it another 100k, preventative maintenance is necessary.

Lol, yes I change the oil/filter routinely and rotate the tires at the same time. Had the air filter out when I changed the plugs and still looks great…surprisingly since I hunt the remote Maine woods frequently

I’ve been blowing mine clean about once a year because it still looked good too. Last oil change I replaced it, it still looked good, I had a new one on hand, so I went ahead and stuck it in. Suddenly I’m getting a couple mpg better.

Brake life can depend on number of factors, so what one yahoo reports doesn't mean it's necessarily applicable to your situation. It appears you've already racked up quite a few miles in a short time, so I'm guessing a lot of your driving is on the highway (i.e. less braking)? Bought my truck new and didn't touch the fronts till I was at 200k (even then there was still some life left on them). The rears are still original with my truck currently at 228k. Main reason I'd say is most of miles were highway, plus me not braking like a soccer mom.

    Still figuring it out…
I did mine the other day at 96k they too were original plugs. I noticed a difference and I’m sure you will to. Here’s what mine looked like

Should have measured the gaps for the spark plug thread. I pulled my factory plugs at 120k and honestly I didn’t notice a difference in performance after putting in new properly gapped Denso plugs.

I will add that your front pads are due. I pulled mine at 125k and they had about 3mm left. Replace them with Toyota pads and you’ll get another 125k lol

I bought my taco in November of 20 with 173k, pulled the original plugs in December. I couldn't believe it! CameraZOOM-20201213152715524.jpg
