My drivers door power window stopped working, all the other windows work fine from the drivers door buttons. stopped by toyota and they want to do diagnostics first then order part. i have extended warranty but requires 2 trips. The guy at the parts counter said the switch panel costs about $800.Good part is the window is stuck closed.
Any body out there ever have a power window issue like i described?

Its most likely a worn switch. The OEM part is not 800 bucks. Its more like 250 bucks.

    https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~master~switch~assy~84820-04090.html

Used ones can be found on ebay for 60-120 bucks.

Make them replace the switch under your warranty. Hopefully they stock the part which means you are in and out same day. You can replace it in 30 seconds. Literally 30 seconds. Pulls yours up from the front edge to see for yourself. It snaps in and out very easily.

Hopefully its just the switch. Which most times it is. If so, this is an easy fix the dealer should do no hesitation.

I know the windows have a trick to reset them. You might want to try that.

My tundra had an issue where the driver side power window got slower, and slower till the point it needed a rest before it'd start working again. I ended up up replacing the motor which did the trick. Truck was about 15 years old when it happened.

Most likely the switch, just did not work all of a sudden. I had the part off when i did speakers a while back.
my dealer 35 mile drive does not stock the part plus first wants to diagnose it then order, more than likely a month to get it fixed. for the price on the link i might just eat it and get it fixed. plus there is always a chance they don't approve the warranty due to some loop hole when they see the sound deadening i did in the door.

I'd try spraying a little deoxit cleaner on the switch. Similar problem i had with my door switch when my truck came home from the dealer...dash warning light for an open passenger door kept lightning up. Sprayed some deoxit in the switch, never happen since. I think some of these components get dirty where ever their stored, not that their actually bad.

They're super easy to pop out. I'd try a buddy's switch to see if that solves the issue, then you know what to buy.

so i popped out the arm rest switch panel and wiggled the connectors and made sure they were fully seated. now the window works! strange all the other windows worked from that panel. guess issue is solved.
    thanks to all.
