Damn that's a lot of water. I'm planning on getting a second container after I get the initial system set up but that would still only be around 100 gallons. I realize it wouldn't last very long without any rainfall to replenish the supply but it's still going to be a big help if the town decides to put restrictions on outside watering.

And those chemicals are exactly why I don't drink tap water, even though bottled water has fluoride too. I guess I should look into a filtration system but that's getting somewhat off-topic.

 

What spouts you use to fill them?

 

Got a couple good cabbage going.


Not sure what this is. Thinking it got pollinated with zucchini? Is that possible? Or we just got an odd ball.

 

Redirected the gutters, put flexible gutters on the end. In some places I just used the elbows. Not the pretiest, but it works. Put overflow pipes on the barrels.
I am on the well, so I have to have rain water for the plants, hence the amount of it.

 

I don't like any peppers. I would need to drown the peppers in something to try and cover the taste.

I kind of got used to green peppers but it took years.

 

Does it have nutrients in the scum? I thought I read that somewhere that it does.

Looks like pumpkin. The yellow flowers also look like pumpkin flowers.

Is the nutrients in scum is good for agriculture?

Since the ground is dig up. I thought about in ground, rain water collection tanks.

 

Letting Google search match the picture, I seems like a (yellow) summer squash.

 

Distilled water will be even better. My friend has a small garden that he uses distilled water poured in a watering can. When his rain collection tank is empty.

 

Then you will need a pump to get the water out. I use gravity to get water out of my tanks.

I'd rather have squash than a pumpkin.

 

I only like pumkin once at thanksgiving. We are planning on some cushaw's next year

 

I could eat pumpkin pie year round. I don't think I ever eat regular pumpking. Zucchini and squash is good.
