Poor 12 year old Shepherd had an "accident" while coming back from the beach in the back seat of my Tacoma. Lucky I had a heavy duty seat cover and sheet below that to catch most of the "stuff"
Still some "stuff" on the upper seat that I've cleaned off for now. Renting a furniture cleaner early next week to extract what I didn't already clean off. A 12 year old GSD is 78 years old in human years. He was clearly embarrassed by the accident. Paddleboard was in the truck bed, that is why he was in the backseat which is rare. Hey, I'm 69 years old and sometimes I leaver stains!

Our wonderful Jack Russel mix guy is 17 in real years. He also has some accidents, but only of the liquid variety, and so far only in the house. We will be doing a road trip in a couple of months and will be building in lots of rest stops. He's too much part of the family to leave home.... or <gasp> at a kennel.

My daughter just used Dawn Power Wash dish spray stuff on a couple of grease spots in her car that the body shop left (hit a deer a couple of months ago) and it did a nice job. We have a carpet cleaner so she sprayed the spot, let it soak for a few minutes then rinsed and vacuumed it back out.
Granted, it's a different kind of stain but just a thought.

Tell the ole boy, none of us are judging, lol.

Took my Miniature Schnauzer 4 wheeling the other day... little guy was bouncing around on the front seat pretty good and tossed his cookies. The towel between it and the new Wet Okole seat covers saved the day!
Note to self... wait till i get back from wheeling to give the him some snacks...lol.

About 10 years ago my Golden Retriever had an accident in the back seat and I didn't have any type of seat cover. Before I could get pulled over she had tracked it all over the seat and also on parts of the seat backs. It was a horrible mess, and I still had about 1/2 hour to go until I was home....

I cleaned it up by using my shop vac and a garden hose. I soaked the seat with water from the hose then immediately vacuumed it out with the shop vac. I repeated the process until it was all gone. It worked surprisingly well, and I left my doors open for a few hours to let the seats completely dry.

Use an enzyme cleaner first, and let it sit for awhile to give the enzymes a chance to work. The enzyme cleaner will break down the components that cause odors. THEN use whatever other cleaning/extraction method.

The reason why you want to use the enzyme cleaner first is because some detergent cleaners will end up 'encapsulating' the odor components and prevent the enzymes from being able to get to them and breaking them down properly.

My doge once barfed all over the front seat and dash of my 991.

    Like a massive orange geyser.

I barfed up orange soda at a dog obedience training class years ago... does that count?

My 90-year-old uncle had an accident in our Sienna with the light grey cloth seats. Fortunately, he was leaning forward when he let loose, and I managed to get a floor mat under him before he sat down in it.
I never had experienced anything like this and was mortified. As he walked into the senior citizens tower he lived at he had my floor mat wrapped around him getting on the elevator. Having so many elderly family members and that Sienna is used to haul them around. We keep an emergency kit ready to use if someone has a history of leaky body functions. We will cover the seat with plastic and a few cheap towels and hope for the best. You could do the same for Scruffy.

Follow up: I rented a Home Depot unit designed for upholstery (Not carpets) and it worked fine. I totally cleaned the entire interior of my Tacoma with this unit.
Carpets too. It was around 80 degrees in my driveway, one of of buddies stopped by and told me to put my shirt back on because it was scaring the neighbors.
