I’m all down for wheelies and fun, but swerving last second before hitting traffic and doing burn outs in intersections is for children pretending to be cool ha. No excusing it because they’ve practiced.

Insurance would love that haha yes, we see here you put your Harley through the hood of a civic, hmm, oh wait, you’re a professional? Ah, fully covered. We’ll even pay for the medical bills, yes, no problem. Sorry to have bothered you, sir. We’ll have a check to you in no time.

I have a 2009 Monster 1100. Great bike, lots of torque. I'm 5'11 and it fits me perfectly. Taller riders (over 6'3") may find it a bit cramped.

Just want a fast little commuter that isn’t too heavy and somewhat comfy. Looking at Ducati Monster, Duke 790 or MT07

790 is a great all around riders bike… it will easily do the daily commute but it’s at its best on a twisty piece of road…

the biggest issue I had was the rear shock gets out of shape when you’re really pushing the bike. An easy fix and not to expensive but one mod that would be a priority.

For the record I weigh around 220lbs with gear… I’d guess the shock is designed around a 170lbs rider

22 XSR900 is in Duke 790 and Monster price range, a lot more bike than the 07 if you're interested. Cruise, quickshift, etc.

I’m looking at used but what’s the difference from the MT09?

Just got back from a short ride where I was going to find a gravel road and test out the Litchi app with my drone, which is supposed to give the DJI mini 2 follow me and waypoint capabilities (doesn't natively have them) but ended up actually turning around on two different gravel roads, each about a quarter mile in. I don't know what it was but I was just NOT feeling comfortable on gravel today. Kind of a head fuck, not sure what/why I wasn't feeling it, just had this sense of oh shit oh shit oh shit and couldn't get a feel for the road or comfortable at all. I'm glad I turned around and didn't push it though, better safe than go down.

Still did some droning though, just not with the follow me, I'm excited to pull the footage here in a bit and show y'all the Palouse and where I like to ride.

Most of the goodies from the MT09 SP like better suspension and a quick shifter, longer swingarm, lower seat, slightly more relaxed rider triangle, enhanced ABS and ride controls like ride modes, wheelie and slide control, etc. and of course the great cruise control (how any bike in 2022/23 doesn’t have cruise is beyond me).

If I saw one for sale in Black it’d be pretty difficult for me not to buy it haha. Even though it’s way more bike than I’ll ever need, 10 grand isn’t a bad price for all it offers.

That’s why I like having the little 250 Rally. The weight (or lack of) just makes it soooo much more manageable than the old GS. When you do go down it’s way easier to get the bike back up and on with the riding.

Hmm I’m trying to buy used but I’ll definitely look into them. Thanks!

No, I wouldn't want to use it as commuter on daily basis. It's better for spirited canyon rides than stop and go through the city. If you're just starting out, a Honda CB500F or 600-650cc v-twin would be a great choice. For more experienced riders, I'd look at a MT-09 or something similar.

I saw this Trail 70 at our local coffee & cars this morning. My eyes say that is a CL350 scrambler motor jammed in there. Inverted forks, piggy back shocks, velocity stacks on the carbs, front disc brake - nice.

edit - needed to add a picture of the Superbird that was there as well. Many fantastic cars today heading into the holiday.
