    This is under the hood, passenger side, near the firewall. Since I purchased my Tacoma pre-owned I wasn’t sure if there was actually something that was mounted in this location or not…looks like a jack or something could have gone here but mine is under the back seat.

    Which components? Are you talking about anti-lock components?

    Normally the ABS module would go there. But the TRD Off Road models have a electronic brake master cylinder, this replaces the brake booster and includes the ABS module, I believe this allows the crawl control to work.

    Yes the above two ideas are great. It already has studs just need an adapter bracket. Have fun.. be creative.

    In the BMW E46 world, folks would call that Drug Bin box area or build a Drug Bin Cover.

    You can build one in there and store some handy tools , bottle of oil or fluids etc.

    That is the case for Sport models...it's why I can't put a compressor there...but that's ok.
