What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Gonna try and do mine tommorow as well. Looks sweet!! Did you end up drilling the OEM one out or dropped the headliner? How much about did you have to widen the holes on the cab?

Yesterday had the oil changed, tire rotation, alignment, brake inspection at Black’s Tire - Free rotations if you had em mounted there. Score. They said I have 60% brake life left at 65k miles. Mind blown.

 

I drilled the rivets out and did not have to widen the holes on the cab, at all. I filed about 1/8 of an inch off the inside of the two end holes on the Meso housing. I also gooped the shit out of it with RTV around all wire holes.

 

How sad this is BS, I WONT GIVE UP MY COMBUSTION ENGINE….

 

Didn't take a picture of the finished product.
But i did two layers of sound proofing on the roof.
HUGE reduction in wind noise when the roof rack is deployed. So now I have sound proofing on the whole cab. Every inch. 2 layers in some places.
Such a big difference in sound and keeping the AC in. Lot of work but well worth it.

question man, do you retain the compass tab and media tab in the main gauge, and did they include you the OBD connection for the heigh 10.

What hardware did you use to attach? Looks great!

 

Not as much as I had hoped to do. Seems my shipment of a Front Runner Simsport roof rack was in two boxes taped together and labeled as one 70 lb box. What arrived was a thin box with torn tape and a shipping label marked as 70 lbs but weighing less than 10 lbs, to be sure, only containing a wind fairing.

Rather disappointed.

Since it is a long weekend I’m sure I won’t get any responses to my inquiries until Tuesday. But we’ll see how it all gets worked out.

 

Started the stereo installation. Will be all Audiofrog GS series, 6 channel amp for speakers and mono for sub, Hush Mat in the doors and foam in the door panels. Custom harness with bass blockers all around.

 

Like the lights and love the manual trans sticker!

 

Installed a catalytic converter shield.

Theft deterrent will put my mind at ease. Understandably it’s a deterrent. If someone wants your cats bad enough, they’ll cut through anything. At least with this they’ll move on to an easier target.

 

Great job! Where did you find the bass blockers like those? Mine are foam.
