I've heard Costco sells those Generac generators and gives a 10% back on a Costco cash card. Might be worth checking into.

Installed a GE motion sensor switch for the main garage light. Should have done it sooner!

Today I put 50 knobs on every cabinet and drawer in my kitchen. Exactly 50 covered them all.

I'm left wondering, what kind of idiot doesn't put knobs on cabinets and drawers?

Nice generator, natural gas? Better hope the power isn't out because of a SHTF situation where nat gas is cut off too.

    Update:

I went from this to now.

    IMG_6573.jpg

No more porch. It will not be miss.

The weird thing was there was a porch in a porch. There was about 5" to 6" cement overlay over the old porch. Good news was the underlying porch was a pre cast, hollow center. The mini Hitachi excavator struggle moving the old porch. The Hitachi was rated at 2000 lbs, The old porch must weigh between 3000 lbs to 4000 lbs. The guys were happy leaving after jackhammer in 90 degrees heat. Surprise I didn't get the finger.

Tuesday is digging for the footing.

Three new foundation vents in preparation for the new patio. They're the self opening/closing type. Found a local hardware store that had em for $17 a pop compared to $30 at Lowes.

The brick vent wells are getting torn out and replaced with metal so I figured may as well get the vents done now. Especially since they'll be a lot deeper after the grading gets done. Now just gotta do 6 more on the front of the house.

Eating breakfast today I noticed some dried water spots on the table cover. Saw them previously a month or so ago & agreed with the girlfriend it's just from our 8 month old making a mess when we give him a cup of water. Welp we assumed wrong. Today there's a clear spot on the ceiling where water is pooling. Methinks it's the tub drain upstairs. We only use that tub once a week or so. Will cut it open & see what I can see. Not looking forward to trying to sand/paint it to match the recently scraped & painted ceiling.:annoyed:

Near half inch plywood finally came down near $30. So I filled the Tacoma. Progress is slow. But I do take breaks.20220702_172550.jpg

Power washed the back patio and walls. We bought the house last year and I had no idea the slate had some much color variation! Probably at least 5 years worth of grime.

Slow progress lately, trying to find some decent contractors to do the work I can’t do (shower/tile, plumbing, and drywall) and it’s proving difficult. I’ve almost finished up all of the electrical that I can do pre-drywall and got the lights in the closet yesterday. My attic is hotter than hell. Temp measured in at about 125 degrees and it was 92 at the time outside, just sitting in the attic doing some wiring I was running about a 135-140 heart rate. I’ve never sweat so much.

Moved 42 sheets upstairs after work one day last week. Pregger wife wasn’t around to advise, so I’m glad I was able to do it myself. I’m growing up so fast. Luckily that’s the last time I’ll lay hands on it. I’d lose my mind if I had to hang it too

the yard has been seriously neglected while getting these rooms ready. Will be a good long day of bush hogging, finishing mower and all the weed eater heads I’ve got

My wife is preggers too haha! Hopefully your house Reno with her is going better than mine goes some days lol. Though my wife was quite helpful feeding me wire through to the attic yesterday, but when I came down she said “you better not sit anywhere in our house get your ass in the shower you smell so bad”

The switch is a dimmer which I know you can’t use on a fan. I just can’t make sense of what’s going on behind the wall plate lol

Haha last time she was 7 months pregnant and helped carry a few sheets upstairs with me, she opted out this round. Don’t blame her. We’re wrapping up two bathrooms and a bedroom so baby number 2 doesn’t have to sleep outside :rofl:it’s kind of nice having a deadline because I’m ready for this crap to be over.
