The bend in the middle of the axle is supposed to be there.

“The “bend” in an axle is called the Camber. (This is not to be confused with V-Bend; the small downward bend in the axle's center. Usually, done for cargo clearance, in applications like boats. The Camber ensures that the axle sits flat when under load.”

Normally the bend is up. But a builder or someone that wants to do a spring over (lift) with out cutting off and re-welding the leaf pads, they just rotate the axle over 180 degrees.

 

Yup totally worked until the tire was mounted!!!

 

Sounds exactly like what was done.

 

Well, Kim is out. Whole family is down with "colds" including the baby. Covid home tests are negative, but caution is the best approach.

Well, it was a noisy ride home this morning with my muffler sitting in my truck bed.

 

Tim and I agreed it'd be miserable. Sure did sound good though.

 

Shannon/Chris, thank you, once again for having us out. I can't begin to explain how this opportunity has helped me get through the last few years.

I felt bad leaving so early, but I'd be surprised if you guys were even up that early. I cleaned up a little to help with the guilt.

Now I'm curious what you guys got up. I wanted to come out this time but I had work.....maybe that was for the best lol.
