Moar overland points for me! Skidplate installed. :burnrubber:

Thanks to @oostroma for the supply! Hit him up if you want one.
(and no, the jack is not holding up the plate, that's just a safety feature as I didn't trust the ramps.)

If you want to ensure you die, then yes use it as that. Use a proper jack stand instead you bag of bolts. if the hydraulic seal gives way inside the floorjack, you might as well be a friggen human pancake.

it says on the box of any floor, dont use it as a jackstand so get yourself some skookum stands, and not those pussy "2 ton" ones. the idea is to use the floor jack to lift the truck onto the stands, and have the truck's weight on the stands.

Besides in this scenario, you're safer using wheel chucks to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards.

    rant part 2: electric boogaloo

this is why i bring it up.
    FB05BD4E-C079-44A3-AD82-8D4E24717209_35c3e76e88459284bdc6ae285ea1f84091a0f81d.jpg

floor jacks are not meant to take any directional loading other than up and down. ( i say this because you have a sloped driveway)
So if those ramps gave out, the entire truck would rest on the jack, and probably use it as a fulcrum, lifting weight off the rear tires just enough for the back end to slip down the driveway and then topple the stand sideways and thus the resulting "human pancake" mentioned above.

I had a scissor jack do something similar above, nearly did one of these because i moved weight from one side to another while the truck's weight was on it. literally just removed the tire and opened the front driver door to grab something and it was enough to throw the balance off.

    goes one of two ways
    1) wreck shit and it's a disaster
    2) being worshiped as a god after plugging a tire puncture with 5 bacon strips.

    Mostly stock for now...
@TunedUpTaco - We aren't ragging on you, just want to make sure you survive to get old, grey and grumpy like some of us....@Shveet - Great Health and Safety photos... glad you are still with us to share the story... In order of application - Wheel Chocks, Jack and Axle Stands - and if the stands aren't available at least throw your spare tire or something underneath so if shit happens hopefully you have a bit of breathing room until help arrives...

No offense taken, always open to constructive advice. Funny thing is. I normally never use the jack as the sole point to keep a car/truck up. Even when I swap to winter tires, I always put a jackstand underneath for security.
In this case I figured the jack was just 'extra', and the chance of both the ramps and the jack failing would be very small.........but I'm sure that's what the last guy who got crushed was thinking as well :anonymous:

Either way, appreciate the concern and advice, that's why I like this community.
Also pretty sure this is the first time someone called me a 'bag of bolts'

Finally - trust me, I got the 'old and grumpy' part covered. :D

Don’t have the links or pictures, but both of them routed just above the transmission. Extending is recommended

Best to extend or is it easier to just run new lines?

Not sure with the AT trucks tbh. I had it extended when my clutch was changed since everything was apart. Transfer case line is accessible, I would just run new hose and use same breathers.
