:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! All's well, thanks guys. Picked her up yesterday afternoon, and surfed the "get out of town" traffic all the way home. Glad they built new roads by the airport, because they were totally filled up - never seen such crap! She can shuffle around, isn't in much pain, and Rex is very glad to have her home and able to cuddle next to her. Very clear whose dog he is! Not really making any "to do" plans; she needs TLC, and can't lift. Bad news is she can't even get in the pool - unless we get a bandage I used to use and permission. We'll see about that. Think simple all-American hot dogs and hamburgers this weekend will have to do! All good.

Happy 4th of July Independence Day. We celebrate this country which is the greatest country by any measurement in the history of the world. Take a moment this holiday to give thanks for this great nation. This is actually my wife’s and mine favorite holiday. Not only because we celebrate this great nation but as she likes to say it’s a holiday that we don’t have to buy gifts for anyone. God bless the USA.
We traditionally on the 4th grill hamburgers, and have potato salad and corn on the cob. Dessert is apple pie. (We are fortunate in that a good friend and neighbor went to the store and did our food shopping. We have Covid and shouldn’t yet go out. It’s good to have true friends like that. And his birthday is 4th of July.)

On a different note we still have Covid. It’s been 2 weeks and we still have some symptoms. Still some cough, head feels like a balloon, mild weakness and fatigue. No fever though. It’s a mild case but it still makes you feel pretty lousy. This isolating is getting old. We are getting better but I’m impatient and just want to get it over with.
Be safe, stay healthy and have a great 4th of July.

    Happy Independence Day weekend everyone!
Too hot outside to do any upgrades with the truck, so inside work for me. Yesterday I got a large Leviton single duplex wall plate to tidy up the large opening (octagonal box) where the old doorbell transformer was that I replaced with a single duplex receptacle. Looks much better with no gaps that the standard wall plate I installed at first had.
    The old:
    76DFDAB7-8B05-4A0D-9DEF-A00C0C803CDD.jpg

    The new:
    9C2D11B7-0ED4-4889-9CCE-5FE8C1CA8D2E.jpg

The hole for the doorbell wire is the builders electricians work not mine lol. At least it’s in the utility closet so I don’t feel a need to patch it. At least not for now.

Good Morning Cool Old Dudes & Susan
Getting caught up a little here.

Kurt , glad you got her back home. Take it a day at a time, no rush needed. Easier said than done I know, thoughts and prayers for her comfort and steady recovery...and your patience. ;)

    Ken , ugh COVID :frusty:
Thoughts and prayers for both your recoveries and patience to get there.

    :hattip: 6

Happy 4th weekend to all. May we remember how fortunate we are, even in these trying economic times. I've seen a few places around this rock...this country is still the best by far IMHO. Be safe, healthy, and most importantly, HAPPY! :)

    Prayers for the wife Kurt.
    Long story short.
We got hit in the rr during our last race.
Same way as two years ago. Our corner and they dive bombed from the dirt.
    Anyway
    Broke suspension.
    F9F1D081-C5C0-4B3D-BDBA-3D51DE1FA3BF.jpg

So pulled whole suspension apart and re welded.
    Reassembled.
    Lot of work.
So need to bleed brakes, adjust valves, and string the car.

    7E3FAEE4-719F-4477-9E6C-31CC8714A111.jpg
    Now the kicker.
    Leaving Thursday.
    And I doubt I’m going.
    I got Covid..
Typical for this summer with all the shit that’s gone wrong.
So after Bob gets everything else done I’ll go over alone and string it.
However, if my lungs stay fairly clear, and if I don’t have to go to the hospital, I’ll consider it
    A big win.

Ken and Mike: Get well quickly!

Kurt: Nice to read the wife is back home.

Went out to Skippers Pier for dinner and music only to find out the music was cancelled due to impending T-Storms so, we had an enjoyable dinner. T-Storms happened around 8pm at home last night and continued until 2am this morning. Lots of rain and lightning.

Headed to the local Farmers market this morning looking to load up on fresh produce. Heading out to another dock bar this afternoon for music and dinner. The pork steaks will have to marinade for another day, and they will be full of flavor.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! Thanks again for the kind words all - I relay them to her to with her usual amusement! She's shuffling pretty well, but I'm still the fetch it guy. And Rex knows when to get his attention. Looks like laundry for me today, and some house chores. Trying to put off Putz stuff until tomorrow.
Thunder rumbles and lightning just to the East last night, thought the bolts would chase off the folks from the city fireworks. Then, never hearing any booms, realized that the 3rd is tonight, not last night. I'm all confused. We don't go anymore, and Rex does not like the noise, especially from the neighbors. So, we'll be right here.

Wow all of the ***** cases! And still hanging around 2 weeks later!?! Yikes. I've been suffering from a mild summer 'cold', really probably an allergic reaction so something out there. I feel lucky that's all it is! My son has ***** too, and said the first day or so were kind of bad but now it is pretty much just a mild head cold. (He was fully vaxxed too.) Fauci is going through some kind of recurring thing. I wonder if it will ever feel like we have it under control?

Best wishes and positive thoughts to all of you.

    Good morning everyone!
Hope those who came down with the vid, or any other health issues get better soon.
Gonna hit 90 degrees here again today, glad to have A/C!
Bought a 12 pack of Yuengling beer the other day, first time I’ve had a beer in a while, beer is a summer drink for me. Gonna watch the Braves play today, have a beer and chill!
    Update:
I first had a Yuengling Traditional Lager while working in SC, and really liked it. Had no idea at the time that it was the oldest beer brewery in the US or that it was still family owned. it took a few years before they sold it in NC but glad it’s here now. Found this video, long but tells their story. :)

They did NOT consult me about stitching her scars with super glue! She said she and the nurses had a good laugh though!
Hope you feel better quick, so you can go play with your toys. Summer vacation is still too short, no?
