It can get very expensive, and we spent a couple Saturdays in my garage building those boom boxes for a few minutes of ooos and aaaahhs once a year. Half of his garage is full of equipment for a 15-20 minute show (no smoking in his garage!), but he loves this stuff and I'm excited to see it for the first time.

I was just looking at this system too. It appears there are many options!

Last summer my daughter and I spent some time out there. This camp was at the rocket site-from your view the big rock to the right is what I climbed up and camped on (daughter asked "can it go up this?"). Great place! Lots of poop and paper in the woods though...

That is in the Cliff mine area, to the right of all those pictures I took of the rock walls/formations.

So... I have been looking a bit harder at the Dobinsons suspension parts for my truck. I need UCA's, are theirs okay? Recommendations for UCA's? Not sure it matters whose I get, but if there is one that is best and comparable in price that would be my direction. Still think I want Alcan springs in the back-more flexibility for tuning when purchasing, and well, on the trail too. Times are tough, so going to take a while to get all the bits but I think the process begins this year! Chime in as you see fit-help me spend some money.

The Dobinsons UCAs look pretty beef. I'm running TC uppers and don't have anything bad to say about them. Just require somewhat frequent maintenance. SPCs are pretty good too for the price @CygnusX191 runs them so he can chime in on them

Dobinson's UCAs have a good, if limited, rep 'round these parts. @Crikeymike is the guy to talk to.

I run SPCs, most adjustable UCA on the market.

Dirt Kings are cool..... They use Moog joints, which are cheaply made in the hundred acre woods.

JBAs have some thiccc tubing, which is beef, but they're known for contacting the coil when approaching full droop (what is this, a Frontier forum?)

Total Chaos.... Are mint. And pricey. And total overkill for everyone who isn't running KoH.

FWIW, I still have TC UCAs and icon takeoffs sitting in my garage for anyone who wants them. They’ll need the uniball serviced and aren’t clean, but I’m not charging 833.85 ;)

Mevotech UCAs from RockAuto are (or used to be very recently) re-boxed SPC units for less than $500 shipped.

Real questions in choosing the right UCA for your needs are how much lift, what size tire, and are you doing a cab mount chop?

If you're at the point of a CMC might as well go all the way to CMR.

I don’t know how anyone can argue about it. If you go bigger than like a 32 inch tire and plan to do actual wheeling it’s mandatory. Anyone saying otherwise hasn’t stuffed with turned wheels and only mall crawls. Facts.

Edit: I forgot that applies to 2nd gens, somehow 3rd gen magically have a tad more room. Also some skinny 33’s can work. Put away your pitchforks.
