I got censored over at the tropical fish forum because it is not permissible to tell people that the price of everything has nearly doubled here since Joe Biden became president.

Gas went from $4 to $7 here. My kid just sold a $170,000 house for $380,000. A $15 beef roast is now $30. It’s $175 an hour to get work done on your car at the Volkswagen shop

EDIT: I almost cried when I looked at that photo. This thing is in perfect shape because it has had very little use & it has always been packed away.

My dad bought that in the 50s and he built a little box to carry it in made from plywood and brass hinges. Over seven decades it had delaminated, and I took it apart to recycle the brass screws and hinges. Inside I found that he had carved parts of the box from my high chair. Solid hard maple.

I watched "The Obsolete Man" episode of the Twilight Zone this morning. The actions of the "state" reminded me of today's cancel-culture...

I wonder how much easier it has become to advance a communist / socialist agenda since the dissolution of the USSR... Back then, the threat was there staring at us. Now, it's in the shadows...
