What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Changed out the OEM coils springs to some OME 885s and set the 5100s to the first notch. Now I need an alignment.

 

Harness install is done and the dash is back in.

 

And so it ends!

All steering wheel controls work. Now it’s time to check the cruise control.

and wouldn’t you know it, my left speaker just died.

 

Cruise works and the A/C was acting funny, I didn’t have a servo plugged all the way in.

Made a quick trip to Burger King and tested my shiny new accessories (well, most of them). Navigation, phone, steering wheel controls, backup camera, cruise, etc.

They all work so I must've done something right.

My left door speaker is cutting in and out (tweeter works 100%) so I went to https://www.crutchfield.com/ to look at getting some replacement woofers (I'll keep the OEM tweeters).

 

You have to show me how to grease the throw out bearing. The squeaking kills me

 

The Kicker Tweeter mod I did was a huge upgrade just FYI

 

So maybe I should look at Kicker component speakers?

 

I got a rebuild kit with the updated spring for the slave that should fix the problem on the way. I just take the slave out lube the part where it hits the arm and then use a hose to reach the sleeve the bearing rides on.

 

Interior uninstalled today to do a deep clean the next 2 days to get years of dog hair out of the carpet & seats, install sound deadening on the rear bedwall & floor, install front & rear cameras, install new stereo head unit, amps & sub, and put seat covers on. And of course reinstall interior so I can drive to work Weds. Figured now was a good time to do all the wiring at once

 

dumb question- what do these do vs the stock ones?

 

looks like mine but I’ve only been riding around with my dog for 6 months.

 

I had them in my first car, they were okay. For somebody who was fine with stock, kicker would be a great upgrade. I have Alpine type rs in my truck

 

gas my way is $4.99, I’ve gotta get gas for the tractors; I only run non ethanol in them and the last time I got gas it was $4.99 and I’m pretty sure it’s closer to $6 now.

 

Changed the map light bulbs to LEDs in my wife’s 2nd Gen. also found out that if your kids have some decent Lego sets, some come with a Lego tool that works nicely for popping the interior light, lenses off.

 

I saw $4.63 today but I'm presently full.
