@T.Barn I saw a bunch of other forest service roads on my drive through that area, anything cool up there? I don't mean obstacle wise, like scenery wise?

It’s funny you say that. When we were leaving the trail last time I noticed all of those and mentioned taking a trip up there to explore them all. I think it’s just as fun sometimes to run up and down those roads checking things out.

To answer your question though I haven’t checked out the area other than the trail though. We usually make it a day trip so it’s just run the trail and go home.

Def down to revisit it, I can see how backwards would be faster for sure, although I think the one offshoot might be super hard backwards because I remember a steep ass drop down it, I feel like I would turtle coming up.

Love that spot, it got me on the official TW calendar a couple years back.

And agree in insta anymore, but the youtube videos I make for my trips/wife and I's vacations, as well as re-reading my own trip reports on here is literally what keeps me sane sometimes. Though I also feel like that's what insta was for me too, tons of memories on stories that I look back on now especially with my kid and how fast he grows up. I need to put all that stuff on a hard drive some where since social media is never forever, just look at MySpace.

That’s an awesome pic. Our last trip was my first time doing that obstacle and there’s no way I’d have made it without @EatSleepTacos spotting skills. We should all make a trip up there soon. I’m always down. Day tripping is pretty rough though.

Yeah it's 8 hours for me so it's a long weekend commitment. I have my eyes set on going North again this year exploring more of MA/VT though. Hard to prioritize all the places I want to go and see. Currently I have been prioritizing the North because it's closer and eventually I will be moving further South so there will be plenty of time to run those trails down there when I do.

Yeah that’s a hike but sometimes the drive is the fun part if you make it fun along the way. Rausch is a spot that’s more north that I love going to. Such a large area of trails and some of them get pretty intense. I’ve been twice once in the snow then the next in the pouring rain so that made it interesting.

Yeah Rausch/AOAA are basically my home trails and have run them so much that I am sick of them. I only go for big events now for tradition or like when @EatSleepTacos came up and we decided to run an annoying, slick leaf covered "trail" all day that was basically just driving on the side of a mountain the whole time. :p

Let me know next time you are heading there, it's a super easy day trip for me! The pines campground is nice and free as well.

Interesting I’ve never heard of it and I live here. I’m going to have to do some research.

They are supposed to be opening up the rest of the Hatfield McCoy trail system to full sized rigs. Bearwallow just in WV is fun.

Truck. I guess the trail system is open to trucks now.
