Looks like a hot line coming into the orange wire nut, a hot line coming out and continuing on, hot line going to standard switch, hot line to dimmer switch. 4 neutrals tied together.

True. I probably would of died doing it myself. I don’t think I would of been able to manage getting them down the stairs myself without destroying every sheet lol

I’m not jealous of it a bit. I hate everything about the drywall experience. It’s never been what I would consider a good time haha are y’all finishing out a basement?

Remove this line from the wire nut and put a jumper in to go from wire nut to the new standard switch. Then connect the other black wire in yellow wire nut to other side of new switch.

Drywall sucks. Yes we finished the basement. Well most of it. Got a huge room in the back I decided to hold off on. Prices have been insane and we needed two rooms down there so time is of the essence too. Glad I was able to find someone and paid them hang and finish it. I was getting quotes around $4-5k labor. Found a guy who said he’d do it for $1400. Not perfect but good enough for me to touch up a few areas and the rest will be covered by trim and stuff

I’m still in awe you carried all those yourself. Did you carry them as the doubles or rip them and do it one by one?

We’ve got a guy that charges $1/sqft and he’s really good. Retired from a school system and very trustworthy. We just have to buy it and move it to the center of the room. He’s probably the only person I’ve hired for anything home related that’s been reliable and done a good job. Everyone else I’ve had to rip their work out and do it over.

definitely carried them individually. I tried two but it didn’t make it off the truck before I knew it was a bad idea haha

Yea, if I had to carry them myself I knew that was gonna be the only way I could of done it. Never realized how heavy it was. Glad I was only using 1/2” sheets. Never even thought about how much it was gonna be. Once I got like 30 sheets in the store on the cart I was thinking how in the hell am I gonna get this home. No way I was making 2 trips. Glad I don’t have the taco anymore. No way it was handling that

Yeah the Tacoma is useless for any real work honestly. I didn’t realize how useless until I got the f150. Nice to fit sheets flat in the bed. Not to mention being able to put a good amount of weight back there. I now haul the taco with the ford haha

Looks like the push connector for the ground doesn't have enough ports so they goobered in a ground by connecting the dimmer(black) ground to the switch(blue) ground.
    1. If it were my house I'd get some Wago 3 port connectors. Pull the goobered ground apart and run a separate ground line to each switch.
    2. Why is the electricians tape running up the wire from the yellow wire nut? Did they just get carried away or is it covering a damaged wire?
    3. If the wire is OK just remove the dimmer and yellow wire nut and swap in a regular switch.

Slowly reclaiming the hillsides from trees, bushes and every other random plant and vine. Nice to take a break from working inside, but man it’s hot.
