I'm looking for performance like stock or marginally better. I've done audio builds in my cars many moons ago. Now I just want to be able to listen to music/news at a decent level.

5.29 here and coming down every day. Surprisingly shocked it didn’t continue to trend upward for the holiday.

The Subaru/Kicker tweeters and a set of decent coaxial speakers in the doors will be perfect for you. I changed my head unit as well, but the speakers were first and even with the factory radio, they were much better than stock.

I can second what others are telling you about Kickers. In my 3rd gen I put Kickers in front and rear doors with the Subaru tweeters in the dash. They rocked that pitiful entune premium head unit especially with cd or usb music. I put the 6 x 9 CS series and the same Subaru tweeters in my 2012 and 2008. I only changed the front door speakers. Now since changing head units my Kickers are plenty powerful with good bass. Best bang for the buck.

Good to know. It would be a good time to upgrade the speakers because I have to pull the door panels anyway to run wires for the power/heated mirrors.

Hopefully I can get by without installing a crossover, but we will see.

Just keep in mind that swapping stock tweeters to the Subaru/Kicker tweeters requires a simple mod to the connector. Very simple and can be found on youtube. Totally reversible.

Another custom harness for the Tacoma. I took two t-harnesses and made one. There are six wires there plus one for starter #2. Just ordered a remote start.

Spent my holiday weekend off-roading and camping in the Buena Vista/ Salida area of central CO. Including finding a dog running miles from where it’s owners lost it and reuniting them. Had a fantastic time.

Least favorite thing might have been Tin Cup Pass, only because it was crazy crazy busy. More sxs than you can shake a stick at. It was super scenic anyways. having most of Aspen ridge to ourselves Sunday night was great.

Little bit of this and that
It's $3.93/gal here right now. $2 a gal more seems insane!
