It's a "negative" world we live in, for sure.

Your summary is spot on--It hit a note with me.

I'm a first time Toyota Truck owner and anticipated a happy moment when I took possession of my Sport.

    Working on it ...
2019 3rd Gen here. My fourth Toyota pick up truck. Well well over half 1,000,000 miles combined on all of them. All have been great trucks and high mileage vehicles. They were not trophy trucks or show trucks. Drove/drive them every day, work them hard and played them hard. This one by far is the nicest truck I have ever owned. Is it perfect? Heck no! But it is a great truck and I will keep it 10-15+/- years as I have my last three.

It's the 21st cenutry most people genuinely expect a positive out come in the majority of situations in life. I think that's why the negative situations are often amplified. There are plenty of people with above average expectations for everything that they are involved in with life.

I expect a $40,000 21st century midsize truck to start up, run and get me to and from my destination with out any problems along the way.

I like mine. First Toyota truck and I made a good choice. I like the other generations but I didn’t know enough about them to know a quality used one. Only problem I’ve had with mine is the sun visor doesn’t want to stay in when you face it to side. It will pop out at the worst time and just be swinging back and forth.

I am about to take delivery on a 2022 Sport 4X in a few days.
Love my 2008 Sport w/ 176 K miles. Its an awesome rock solid truck with a frame replacement.
All that said I will be 70 in a few days. Don't want to drive my old truck forever.
Gotta love that "NEW CAR SMELL"
Hope I love the new truck.

Being that I can sell my 08 for around 17 or 18 K, I get a new truck for around $24000
    Whats not to like?????

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
I like my 2016. 100,000 miles on Galadriel. A lot of them very hard. Still get a thrill when I have an excuse to go for a drive.

I'm a huge fan of mine. It does everything I need well. There is room for improvement, but that is true of any vehicle at the Tacoma's price point.

I’ll go a step further and say I like my 2022 3.5L Automatic. Shifts like I’d expect it to and I don’t see what all the complaints are about.

Coming from a 2012 4.0 2nd gen and everything about this truck feels like an upgrade to me. Based on reading this forum for months while I waited I thought I would hate the truck. What a bunch of complainers some of you guys are!

I ran into an old friend I hadn't seen in years, a few years back. He is a few years older than me. ( this was pre Covid)
He told me he had bought a new Tacoma every year for the last 6 years.
Just trade em in get a new one..... LOL

I don’t like mine, I love it! Is it perfect in every respect? Of course not, but it’s the best truck I’ve ever owned.

So my previous truck was an 88 jeep Comanche 4.0 4x4 long bed that was a pig in the engine department. Now this 2020 3.5 4x4 does everything I need and more. Hual my dirt bike no problem, hual my zero turn to cut a few lawns no problem, merge on the highway with a short ramp no problem. I honestly don't see what people are bitching about it's a mid sized truck and that's how I treat it nothing more nothing less.
