Thanks for those who helped identify the vine shenanigans in my rhodedendrons the other day. Went under there Friday after work and found the culprit. Good call because it was starting to choke out the tree at the base, had one wrap around it. Was able to get 97% of it pulled and there's still a piece that couldn't come up from the roots but at least now I know exactly where to go so I'll keep an eye on it. I cut from the base and pulled them down out of the tree and got all of the vines out. Looks 100% better now!

    The trophy:

Hopefully everyone is having a nice 4th of July! Does anyone take the week off from work? My shop closes down for the week, so it's a nice break!

I've never been granted time off this time of year since I've been a civilian.
That being said, I'm off. Not sure for how long, and certainly not for fun.

Nope, I’m off tomorrow but it’s effectively a travel day. Then it’s back to the grind.

Nice. I get between Christmas and new years off, I'm in manufacturing. I've heard a lot of places will do this week though - one of the competitors for my old company does a shut down this week too. Europe is basically this and next month a crapshoot. France basically takes July and August off.

The company my father worked for while I was younger had the first two weeks of July as a corporate vacation every year, this would end up being the two week vacation I had every summer to our family lake house on Champlain up here in VT. I'm not quite as lucky to get a guaranteed vacation like that, but now we live up here, so it's almost as good.

I think that S&W shuts down for two weeks in August. Customer Service is open, but they don't any production. Time is spent working on maintenance for machinery and gun building equipment.
