Is this front end a new style or aftermarket cuts by the owner ?

I saw 2 of these front ends today on my way to work. See how the front end has a kind of "wedge" cut into it ? I think it looks nice. I know that the air-dam is removed but look at the front facia from the side of the front until the fog light. That area. Until today I have never seen a front end like this. Does Toyota make these like this or was this done by someone aftermarket ? I was only able to get a quick glimpse and picture of it. And then 5 minutes later I saw another just like it.Resized_Screenshot_20220705-085504_Gallery.jpg

Wonder why he did this though. He obviously has no issues with clearance running the 11" stock steelies

I thought the same thing. He either just likes the look or he's getting ready for bigger tires. To me it just reduces the resale value and opens the undercarriage up to more road debris.

I don’t understand why people just don’t continue the cut straight across it would look way better. That’s what people are doing in 4Runner and GX communities

WOW , I did that to my older Taco 18 years ago. It's kind of dark but you might be able to see where I cut mine.
Thanks guys for the quick answer.

I believe it's because there's a screw or bolt on the bottom portion that give it more rigidity.

The all matte black front lower facia is a feature on the SR, the cut is done post sale by owner if I understand your post correctly. I've seen a few of those around sans "viper cut".

We knew it’d be all uphill after we got rid of the kiddie pool in the truck bed squat look.

At least the cut has a cool name.
