I have the total control bed stiffiners installed on mine bit pricey but they work great. I bought my truck used and the camper already put a gap where the tailgate is but the stiffners did the job and fixed the gap

I read on here to remove bed rail caps completely (if you have 2nd gen) because it could leak underneath

 

Nice! glad they fixed your problem! If you remove you bed rails the back camper latch wont close completely and could fuck your install. They are designed around the height of your rails. But I believe it was @fatfurious2 removed his rails and taped off under them and did the kb voodoo rails. Still hear mixed reviews if you can use them or not.

 

I picked this stuff up. Pulled up the bed cap rails. cleaned, layed this down to be sticky both sides and put back on the caps and just pushed the clips through. Same for the T-tracks and front rail. Pulled, put this under and reinstalled.

Edit: its very very sticky. Put in fridge to get it cold and stiffer and a tad easier to work with.

Make sure you have things right when you set it. Once it sticks. Your ruining it to pull it back apart.

yes I did kbvoodoo rails on my 2nd gen. They say to NOT do it, but if you have an 05-11 with the low cab antenna or no antenna, then the V2 will fit. I went back and forth many times in my research, and turns out it does. But it also messes with your tailgate cap. I havent redone mine yet. I had a Mobtown tailgate cap and reinforcement panel (which have both been removed. I made my own panel, but havent put the tailgate cap back on yet because it needs more clearance)

 

Mine is going on a 09 so I should be clear then! I will ask the man tomorrow when I see him if he will allow it. Thanks again dude!

 

Do you have the stubby antenna? I reached out to a few people from the Pro page, a year ago in August they were in the 1600s. If you try to find my truck, its probably way back, as Im build #1670.

But yea, they say no, but like me, a couple people have done it with kbvoodoo or Relentlessfab rails, which are hard to get. Just tell them that you dont have the stock bed rails anymore. Also, maybe bring some beer for the install guys.

Or if you're passing near Virginia, ill give you my stock bed rail caps.

Sub'd picking mine up in August. Anyone have a link to the levels that they installed? Is it best to just get some t nuts from GFC or is there another option?

 

My 2020 SR5 is level with the GFC when unloaded, but sags a bit when loaded up for longer trips. I haven’t addressed it yet, trying to decide between sumo springs or an add-a-leaf. So I’m curious what others say.

For the T-nuts, GZila is the preferred alternative to GFC. They have them a bit cheaper. I also have two sets of their awning blocks and those are nice too.

I’ve also heard you can file/grind down the corners on certain 8020 tnuts that are even cheaper. I can find the link where mentioned if people are interested. I think it was on GFC’s forum.

 

Gzilla awning rods are crap though. Mine have a few uses and are already perma bent. Need to find better ones.

Damn. well the two I got from a guy with a old Shittco set are much beefier. So those are still good to go.
That or if I end up in Vegas for work may stop by CVT and get a few of there’s.

 

I have my drawers installed without a base plate, I cut a piece of plywood and have it jammed between the front mounting rail and the top of the drawers then also bolted to the rail so it doesn't fall out. Also have a tie down point so it serves a dual purpose. I didn't want to lose the height of using a base plate. SO i have extended the drawers out fully loaded and put my weight on it, there is no lifting of the front after installing the plywood blocks. I can load a picture if anyone wants.

I didnt know anyone else made those rain fly poles, definitely something I'll look into.
