Its going to be pretty difficult to compare performance between electric and combustion trucks. I don't think the technology is there yet for the towing/off-roading/abuse that people expect trucks to handle. I'm not saying I won't buy an electric truck eventually, I'm just saying I won't be buying the first generation of one.

In the world of electric, EV's might be great for around town & stuff like that but what if you're up in the mountains or way out in the boonies? I guess you could just bring your trusty generator.....oh wait that takes gas...

I do not want an electric Tacoma. There is zero advantage in having an E Taco, in fact huge disadvantages. I don’t even want them parking in front of my home.

why on earth would you want to raise the center of gravity in a very capable off road truck??

    that just doesn't make sense.

and what kind of battery technology are you referring to? there's absolutely no way to get what you are talking about unless you make the truck cost over $100k

Yup, and Rivian made a big deal out of driving through a puddle.

But happens when the battery on a BEV gets saturated in water?

Never had a problem with gas equipment left out in the rain.

Either low powered ICE with electric motor assistance for hard acceleration or towing or off-roading. Think something like Honda's first insight where the ICE always runs but needs the electric motor to help it get up to speed unless you really like slow acceleration. OR Chevy's volt's idea where the car starts up an ICE once the batteries are exhausted from about 40 miles of driving. In both cases, the ICE should be a multi-fuel engine just like the Deuce and 1/2s. If the latter, I want the option to upgrade to fuel cell, fission or fusion as the tech becomes available.

For the love of the gods NO........no offence or disrespect intended, but holy crap that has to be THE single ugliest front end on a truck I have ever seen bar none.

There is more to life than looks. Like not liking a woman because she does not have the right size boobies.
Toyota would never offer that front end. Too polarizing. However they could offer the rest of the truck with a different front look. I'm not superficial...I like all sizes of boobies.
