Can you access the moving parts? Try a good silicone spray. Works wonders.

It's rubber interlocking (think puzzle piece) gym floor tiles so they're already softer than the laminate over concrete floor while providing a good stable traction surface for VR shenanigans.

Then the middle 3x5' section has a 5/8" anti fatigue mat under it which does two things, one it's spongy enough to be kind to my already bad and abused knees and two raises that section to where I can feel the little bit of smooth drop off transition which helps me stay in the tracking and "safe" area (no punching expensive screens and such)

The neon green contrast tape is just visible through the Head Mounted Display (HMD/ VR headset) eyebox gaps and easily seen through the pass through external camera mode same with the green spike tape X in the true middle. The gaff tape sectioning keeps the puzzle piece seams smooth so I don't catch and trip as well as allow me to feel with my feet my relative position as well.

Edit: So long as my toe tips stay on the rubber mat my hands can't collide with anything and break the controllers or anything in the room.

With this sort of thing or laying out pipes or electrical box cut outs in cabinets I always strike a plumb line and a level line and measure everything from those lines .

You have a sheet on the wall that you are going to abut your next sheet to so you can use that as a reference for your plumb line . The trick to accurately laying out boxes or pipes to precut (if you don't do rotozip method mentioned previously) is to measure both sides of every box or cut out from the same reference edge , so for instance in your second pic , if that electrical box is 40"(and away) from the plywood sheet you already have on the wall , I would measure and write down 40-42" or 41 7/8" to 42 1/8" or whatever it is off your plumb reference line , do the same from your level reference line at the top , ie 48"-52" down or whatever . In my experience measuring up from the floor introduces an error potential if the floor is not perfect , same thing as trying to measure to the centre of the box and then laying out the size of the box , all those things produce compounding errors

Yes, the latest Google/Nest AI Cameras are worth the $$$.

My complaints are with the "Nest Secure" system (door and motion sensors) that they pulled the rug out from under.

I think I got mine from BJs and I chose this over leather or vinyl because it breathes it’s been a great chair and for $119-129? It’s worked out well for me.

That's actually another good reason why I went with it over others I was considering, it breathes so much better than any solid chair be it leather or cloth, perforated or otherwise.

    Gaming can get... Intense.

    :bananadead:

I swear I lost 5lbs playing Metal Gear Raiden Rising, needed to keep a fan on me for that one.

Now I have full control over the thermostat for better or worse.

We're going to have the entire insert replaced due to the fogging issue. I'll try to remember to ask the door guys if there is a fix for the noise.

Is having the door fixed less expensive than just replacing the entire door?

    That's cool!
I don't like that they did away with that either, but the cameras have motion and noise tracking and the subscription saves 100% of the A/V for 6 months. You can even set zones so certain areas of the camera images are not sampled for alerts. This works good for my doorbell because it was constantly alerting on the motion of the street.
X2, I'd also like to know.

Four plywood panels up. See pics on previous page.

First I didn't have the right/decent router bits (added to tool list). I did a doubly thing. Cut power, removed cover plates, covered outlets with painters tape, bomb canned them with primer gray, put panel in place temporarily to mark from wet paint. Then took panel down measured 2x, drew with matching unused boxes I have laying about and drywall squares, cut, put in place and screwed down. Worked fine. But still a pain in the ADHD ass.

EDIT: I forgot, the pain in the ass part is the floor slopes down toward the doors. Normal for a garage but just a hair of a lip on the level foundation.........hence the hammered in chainrings to rest the panel on. I should have done this from the start.

How do I stop grass growing in my gravel? I was going to spray but I don't want it to run through the dirt and kill the yard on either side.

It should only kill what it's sprayed on. The only surefire way is to put underlayment under the gravel when it's first laid down...
