Ironically, this is a photo of my new and improved shop. and this is some of the stuff I've been making.

 

They all look fantastic!














That last one is really messing with my OCD, however.

 

How do you guys feel about this thing. Calling it a charcuterie/serving board. not sure how I feel about it being .5" thick and then having such a bulky handle. Honest thoughts, please

 

Id put a thin round black metal handle on the other side and thin down the walnut handle. Neat though

 

Shaping things with inappropriate tools. A spindle sander would be amazing right about now.

I've dabbled a bit. I used to install high end car audio systems in my 20's where I fabricated with MDF, fiberglass, plexyglass and aluminum but never really messed with hardwoods. I've fairly recently started dabbling with them.

I was brewing for a while and made myself a keezer. This was my first real hardwood project:


MDF speaker enclosures with Cherry veneer and Beech faces.

Tray Tables to match


Got plans from Kings Fine Woodworking for these chairs. Made them from Redwood for a friend also made a set for my dad out of Sapele. Pretty sure I'm retired from making these LOL


I saw a version of this wall art that I thought was really cool so I made my own:

My most challenging project... A bass for my dad (Bass player and hobby woodworker himself)

 

Yeah, yoke for the center of the canoe. Trying to get some trim pieces made while I’m waiting for a combination of cooperative weather and 8 free hours so I can get the interior fiberglassed and epoxied.

 

That's all some fabulous stuff! What plans (if any) did you use on the Tray Tables?

 

Thank you. I used my existing tray tables as a reference and then improvised the leg mechanism. I used binding posts and skate bearings for that.

Never got around to sharing the final product of the Peruvian walnut slab. In hindsight I would have stained the bow tie a bit more but will work for now. My first bow tie, so don’t please don’t kill me.

In the future I will most likely do a different bow tie using some other Peruvian hardwood I have laying around back at my old house. Pretty happy with how it came out and at least the cracking stops for now. Looks great on the kitchen table.
