This is my 5th Toyota truck, bought new in 2016. So far its been my favorite of the bunch.

Not perfect by any stretch but it always does what I need it to do.

I still smile when I climb in to drive it.

I had a 2021 T4R loaner for a few months that was more comfortable to drive, much improved over the Tacoma. I enjoyed it quite a bit but it felt like I was driving a woman's car, it didn't feel like it had the masculine factor that driving my Tacoma has.

Surprised me a bit as I've seen some pretty nice 4runners on the road. Maybe it was just a little too comfortable to feel like a truck platform.

I went from a 93 toy truck to a 2001 4runner to a 2008 FJ TTSE and now to a 2020 TRD Pro. Simply because I trust the reliability, ease of mods and daily drive ability. My favorite thing is modding of course, but it's been getting better and better with each version. My 3rd gen is by far the best (with the FJ being the best for off roading). Now I also smile when I get in because my HP matches the way I feel with a Supercharger! lol

Only disappointment with my Off Road is that it doesn't come with a front Locker! The new GM truck comes with it, as does the Gladiator.

Other than that, it's still the best of the bunch, and will continue to have the best resale value and best reliability!

Here is why no one takes you seriously:

    upload_2022-7-6_8-45-14.jpg

If the jeep is such hot shit, fine. Go buy a jeep. Enjoy it. Whining endlessly about how the thing you own is vastly inferior to the rest of the market isn't "expressing your opinion." Its being contrarian for the sake of contrarianism.

You know what? I didn't like my Dodge. I could have gone online and posted ad nauseum about how my Dodge sucks and therefore so does everyone else's, but instead I decided to sell it and get something I liked. I'll happily relate my experiences as to why I didn't like my Dodge, but if a Dodge owner counters with "here's why I like mine," cool, I'm glad you enjoy it. Because that's what fucking grown-ups do.

You seem to have quite an axe to grind for someone that joined the forum last Saturday.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

50k for either vehicle is absurd lol. Spending 50k plus for a wrangler is insane. Why pay that much to drive a rolling toilet....

I'm on the fence right now between 4 and 5, only because gas prices are really beating me up and your average full-size gets better MPG. Besides that... This has been such a good vehicle. Not only does it have the looks, the capability, the ease-of-maintenance, THE INSANE RESALE VALUE, but I've had so much fun in the Toyota community, whether it's off-road wheeling stuff, the aftermarket support, and general BS.

Know what, I talked myself in to hitting the 5 button.

I love mine. Whatever drive-ability issues/concerns I had when I first bought it, I do not even notice it anymore.

you would never see a tacoma owner trolling on the jeep forums. jeep owners seem to spend a lot of time thinking about tacomas, but not so much the other way around.

The best thing about being a Jeep owner is that they get to test out different cars from the rental company while their Jeep is on a mechanics lift.

    Nothing yet
    Forgotten option.

"Who is tired of seeing posts of people bitching about a truck they bought, without a gun pointed to their head?"

I just did a 5200 mile toad trip across the country and back, 500 miles offroad, the rest on highway and backcountry mountain roads. Loaded, shell camper, tons of driving. No complaints other than the other drivers speeding up to get in front of me, then getting in front of me only to go 5mph slower than the speed limit.
