    For Sale $4000.00 Firm

1998 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4X4 with manual locking hubs. 234K on the odometer. 2.7 3RZ FE engine with Auto Transmission. Both the transfer and transmission shift fine with no problems there. With the exception of one rear leaf spring there are no other problems with the steering and suspension components. New carrier bearing at the driveshaft. The rear end has been taken apart and refreshed. New passenger and driver side rear axle seals, New brakes all the way around. Passenger side front hub has been rebuilt. Good wheels and tires. New front bumper, battery and starter. Good glass all the way around, New door handles. New AC clutch but the AC doesn't work. Counter balance shaft delete has been done to the engine.
The engine is unserviceable as the engine has a low oil pressure light that comes on when the oil is at operating temperature. The truck will drive up onto a trailer. my loss is your gain at this point. If you replace or rebuild this engine you have a truck that can potentially be around for quite some time.

did I miss something here? Why would the engine be unserviceable? Or due you just not want to try and rebuild? Just curious.

I rebuilt the engine and the oil pressure is still too low. The oil pressure light comes on after engine warm up and when you place the transmission in drive. If someone wants this truck they can have it for $4K.

Did you or do you have a friend that can hook a manual oil pressure gauge to it to check and make sure your engine is or isn't at the right pressure. You know how idiot lights are lol. Maybe a bad sending unit. Hate to see you put that much work in it just to find out it was something simple. Been there done that.

3rz to 2Rz bebuilt block and new heads
Its a very simple engine. Can only be at the pump, may of installed a 2rz pump gear by mistake.
Or more likely a crack inside the timing cover right in the pump cavity, allowing oil to drop right back into pan...a wobbling failing harmonic balancer does this type of damage....and that crack is not obvious, you have to look for it..
Or lastly a damaged key/key seat on crank inside the pump, allowing pump to slip under load speed/pressure.....

So could be as cheap as $100 and labor for timing cover......or other extreme .....if the crank key seat is wallowed out, the crank maybe toast.....new block

Out of curiosity, why did you rebuild it the first time??

Any chance that harmonic balancer did not get seated properly and is slipping on crank shaft, I believe you've had several weird problems, like the water pump incident....

    Here are several reasons.
Counter balance shaft bearing was destroyed. I removed the counterbalance shafts and reoriented the bearings to block their perspective oil ports and remove the counterbalance chain.
The other picture is the oil pickup tube completely clogged on BOTH sides of the pickup screen.
