If you want a white access cab off road, they have another one that’s been sitting down there for weeks. The first one that arrived months ago was bought by another co worker of mine. About the only allocation that isn’t spoken for.

Ordered mine On October 10th, was told it was coming in Jan, then that got delayed to march, then to April. Finally got it on June 24th. Was never given a Vin, was told by my dealer that Toyota dont give the dealership the vin until it arrives (not sure I believe that) my dealership could/would not give me an exact delivery date because they said they could not guarantee a date of delivery. Was also told as i did some calling around to other dealerships that a lot of trucks were stuck in the port of Vancouver for months. I think things are just still catching up with all the supply chain issues

When I asked for an update from my dealer a month after ordering, they sent me a screenshot of the order system showing all the details including model, colour, delivery date window, where it's at in the process (production etc) and VTN. If the dealer didn't show you this, my guess is they didn't have an allocation because Toyota's system shows everything you could need to know.
I think they're correct that they won't give you a VIN until it's at the dealer or at least in transit though.

Question. Has anyone had any issues with their truck being the wrong color?

I ordered a 2022 DCLB sport premium in Lunar rock.

Today I requested a screen shot of the order status and the color says "Midnight black Metallic".

I called the dealer up and he agreed that Lunar rock was the color I ordered on file, and will get back to me why it says midnight black on the order sheet.

Quite concerning, I mean, I can live with black but at the price and time I waited, I would prefer my color of choice.

If you read a bit about how it works, the dealers get what they get. They can request something, it doesn’t mean they’ll receive it. No matter what, they’ll surely sell it (to you or someone else). They can try exchanging it, but it’s more of an hassle for them. Your choice to wait and possibly get nothing this year or take whatever is available.

Ordered a 2021 Lunar Rock TRD Pro in April 2021, got a 2022 Electric Lime in April 2022. That’s how it works.

Perhaps...Dealer just called me and said that they received the wrong vehicle today. Not only is it the wrong color, but also the wrong package. The dealer added that it says my TRD sport premium lunar rock is in the shipping yard, that I have "almost" two orders in my name. He said that they have never seen this before at their dealership (a pretty busy one in a big city). Apparently the black metallic TRD sport (Not premium) matches an exact order of another client that ordered a little less than a month before me, they can't sell it to him yet until they figured it out.

So yea, I know abit "how it works" as you say, but this situation is particular as you can see.

Fingers crossed it gets sorted out, I would of been to live with the color but I want the premium trim.

First order of a 22 Premium TRD off-road was cancelled due to the shortage of parts. Just ordered a 23 on Monday. Fingers crossed for a quick shipment, was told by end of the year.

These trucks are all over the map. Some ordered later and got their truck, some earlier and truck was canceled (both premium trims) then the canceled truck is back on track for this month. Now yours ordered around same time just got canceled. All from same dealership.

It’s frustrating to say the least.

Thankfully I still have a fully capable 2018, otherwise I’d be looking at other options.

My other option was a frontier, but mine came in the 5 months I was quoted, so I was mentally prepared to wait that long. If it got cancelled I’d be in a pro 4x almost certain. My 2005 had over 300k and while still working fine, I wanted a newer truck.

I saw one in the wild the other day. I didn’t realize how much they’d improved. I had to stop and check it out!

Wow I am glad I just grabbed my 21 TRD sport Premium DCLB in army green from a list of trucks they already had coming in. Ordered July 21 and received sept 21. Sounds like I was lucky to walk in and get what I wanted fairly soon.

Placed an order for OR DCSB Premium Lunar Rock in Spinelli, Lachine, QC in April.. I feel that I ordered almost a TRD pro unicorn. anyway, after few rumors of no more premium for 2022, just saw a premium 2022 being built in July on the US forum. So finger crossed.

Premiums and Pros are being built still, albeit in smaller numbers. I found it's basically up to the dealer to go to work and make calls to be able to get one of these trucks. If a dealer simply waits for one to get allocated to them it's less likely to happen.

Ordered a Tacoma TRD sport DCLB premium in lunar rock on February 17 2022.

was informed 2022 premium builds got reduced/cancelled

received a black TRD sport DCLB (not premium)

I was told I would be put on the list for early pre orders for the 2023 in the original order request and that it would take 6-8 months.

Have the option to lease the vehicle until then and would get flipped out when my 2023 premium arrived. I think I am going to bite the bullet and finance the vehicle I received.

What do y’all think? Is leasing sketchy? I feel that hiccups can come, verbal agreement vs what’s on paper…

Yes, I understand the thought choice. Got pressured to get a trail Lunar Rock or TRD OR black. But I keep telling my sales rep: "You told me that the beauty of ordering is that I could decide the trim and color that I want."

I would not go the 2023 route... unless they accept to split the MSRP price increase for a 2023 with the same equipment.

    Good luck.
