There's virtually no difference in rear axle weight between a DCLB and DCSB. DCLB actually has potential for better weight distribution to front axle. Now ACLB is substantially less rear axle weight than the DCs.

Dobinsons springs are no longer accepted as good out-of-the-box, they NEED 2nd leaf trimmed where it extends inside shackle cavity. Stubborn Aussies don't understand the Tacoma shackle design, they trudge along with their designs for Hilux shackles even after you explain it to them. See pic

Deaver is pretty good. We are working towards our spring offerings, and our MD springs should be just right for you.

Shackle cutting is a non-issue with the 3.6" Fab shacks right? That's the purpose of the dog leg in them?

Or do packs still need trimmed with the 3.6" fabs?

The 3.6 do help, but it's impossible to design around Dobinsons and Dakars, they make 2nd leaf so stupid long, unless you convert to Hilux shackles

There's a new inexperienced hanger brand, that doesn't have 7 years experience making hangers like Archive, who incorrectly states no trimming is needed with their shackle.

Is it even possible to convert to Hilux rear leaf hangers? Last time was in Japan I drove a diesel 2.4 hilux, and took a very thorough look at the undercarriage, while the front half of the frame seemed to be virtually identical with the Tacoma to the naked eye the rear half of the frame was completely different it was fully boxed unlike the Tacoma and was straight back rather than narrowing, the rear leaf hanger was in double shear straddling the frame tube in "shackle flip style" and had a single bolt as the pivot pin that went through a crush tube in the middle of the frame rail at the back.

I've got a picture on my computer at home somewhere but can't find one online for whatever reason.

But that's my point, Dobinsons and OME don't design for the Tacoma application.

Cutting up my 3.6" fabbed shackle is something I'd like to avoid, so maybe I'll opt for something other than the Dobinsons. The other off-the-shelf spring I was considering is Icon RXTs. Seems like a few folks on here have been pleased with them. I'm anxious to get everything installed on the truck. What are your thoughts on upgrading to the Archive spring later on once it's released? Any issues with measuring the axle tabs and then going to a different spring? I was planning on ordering the Archive U-Bolt flip with Option 3 this evening.

I bought the 12” 2.5 smoothies but also found a good deal on bypasses for my archive setup, so if anyone needs any smoothies after July 9th (after my installation), dm me!

I’d say most would agree a flat resi is visually pleasing. I think most would also agree it’s not worth the extra cost and potential extra wait for the longer hose when it’s purely aesthetic.

I requested a 16” hose length based on the recommendations here and mine weren’t long enough to be mounted horizontal. I never personally measured them so idk if they are shorter or if a longer hose length than 16” is needed.

Is this typical for the shock relocation to not use the complete travel of the shock? Saw this on IG and was confused because I thought the point was to mount the shocks so the full stroke was used. I get that different leafs separate at different areas depending on setups. @ARCHIVE insight?

As proved by the pictures, our relocation allows all the bump travel due to our appropriate tall towers.
First, you can see the axle is horizontal, so the shock needs to have another 1" to allow for articulation of axle while bump is fully compressed (shock is outboard of leaves and bumps).
Second, whoever is setting that up is limiting the up/bump travel with the air bumps which in the case of the King bumps are adjusted all the way down, BUT in both pics, the bumps can go upward at least 1" more, which means the setup as pictured could be adjusted with bumps to using full up travel for all possible situations of that combo.

Of course the axle tab we provide could be adjusted up and down as well

I was hoping to get some advice from you guys before I order new spacers. I am currently running 255/80R17 on 7x17 4mm (I think that is 4.16 BS) offset 4Runner TRD wheels with 1.25" spacers to clear the shock relocation. My math could be wrong but I think that works out to a total 2.91 BS and unfortunately it is causing occasionally rubbing up front over big bumps when turning. I am wondering if I will still clear the rear shocks if I switch to 0.75" spacers? I think that would put me a 3.41 BS.

*Edit, I am currently rubbing up front not in the rear.

My next issue is that I have winter tires for ski season which are 265/75R16 mounted on 7x17 +20mm TRD OR wheels (I think 4.98 BS). They clear the shocks just fine with the 1.25" spacers (3.73 BS), but I am guessing that they might rub if I switch to 0.75"s (4.23 BS) (I typically don't off road the snow tires very hard so they won't be full flex). I guess worst case I can switch spacers every winter or just get different wheels, but I am kinda hoping that the 0.75's will work for both. Does anyone have experience with either of these set ups?

The TRD 4runner wheels if rubbing may not +4 offset then or 4.16" BS.
    Are you sure on specs?
