When I put my digital calipers on it, the OD of the urd piping near the MAF was 2.75” so that’s what I ran with when ordering parts. on the stock air box, i was able to measure the ID where the MAF sits and it was 2.536” so I think the 2.75” OD tubing will be perfect. I guess we’ll be finding out though :D

The rest of the urd tubing was 2.5” OD for reference. That’s what the hot side charge pipe I made was as well

Rerouted the water methanol tubing, and added the inline filter back that I had taken out at one point. Turned out much cleaner than I had it previously running it up near the back/top of the washer reservoir. It now runs behind/below it and is tucked away out of sight for the most part

Also took a little time and cleaned up some surface rust on the inside of my frame rails where the sliders were welded on. Hit it with some primer and flat black rustoleum.

Thanks and happy 4th sir! :oldglory:

Lol I don’t use mine much either but I think they’re here to stay. Most other things are on the chopping block though to try and save some weight if at all possible.

random question while you’re here, did you have to wire up any additional sensors when installing your Haltech with the boomslang harness, or does that make it to where the factory sensors are used?

The Boomslang makes it so the factory wires/sensors are used, you could always change out a sensor but would need to enter it's calibration in Haltech software. I wish someone with OVTune etc software would list the calibrations as seen on the stock computer.

That’s what I was hoping for. That’s gonna be awesome, thanks for the info.

If I had the OV software I would but I was leery to jump on that ship lol. I do have HP tuners so if they ever decide to get on board and support the 2TR I could help out there, but im not holding my breath.

Hell it’s weight per HP so did you just added like 54 ponies.
    Let’s get that baby on a diet…

Oh, I just put a down to hold an 05, white, reg. cab, five lug w/ a stick & 151k miles. It’s in OR. so I booked a flight to pick it up and drive it home. I ordered the 3 parts to make the cruise operate for the drive home.
First thing is flush all fluids, replace all rubber parts & any wear items under the hood. I will most likely do what I did to the supercharged Taco but leave it NA. Hmmm might be a good candidate for a turbo someday. But I think I would do better rods & pistons first. Anyone know if a 3RZ will bolt in? From my reading it looks like the 3RZ had a R150 trans. And from what I read it’s the same as the R154, R155 and 3rd. Gen. R156 just gear ratios change. I love to get the gears from an R154 / Supra trans…

I’ve been thinking about ditching the camper lately but I like it so it’s sticking around for now.

No kidding! That’s awesome, we’re gonna need some pics once you’ve got it.

why would you want to throw a 3rz in? The 2TR is boost friendly in stock form. It has a forged crank from what I’m told and if you want to go wild, CP Carillo can make pistons, Pauter rods, ARP head and main studs, balance shaft delete and get after it. That’s starting to look like my long term goal at least. All I am lacking is pistons and a place that can assemble the short block and do the machine work. If you want to upgrade the trans, keep the R155 and put some billet shift forks in it from marlin crawler for the R154.

    Thanks Robert,
I was just thinking because the 2 & 3RZ have oil squirters up into the bottom of the pistons and there’s been so much development with the two RZ engines. I don’t *think* the 2TR has the potential but I don’t know crap!
    :anonymous:
Also trust me the 05 little Taco needs a “LOT” of TLC so I feel like a dumb $h!t… :smack:
I’m sure I will spend many days laying on a creeper with a wash mitt dripping soapy dirty filthy water running down my arms into my face, eyes & mouth. Trust me soapy dirty water doesn’t taste good!
I’m looking for a pair of Sport bucket seats right now and many other parts… Hey it’s only money right?

Yeah there definitely is way more aftermarket support for the 2RZ/3RZ. We’ll see if the 2TR ever comes around in that regard over here in the US. I think they have tons of potential, but that’s just my opinion.

oh and the 2TR has oil squirters as well, here’s a pic of my old short block. You can see the one in the top of this pic on cylinder one is missing. And hey man it’s all about the journey! It sounds like you enjoy cleaning things up and making them 100% again. You’ll have that thing turned around in no time:thumbsup:

    Edit;
How in the Hell do you find all the info about the sweet mods you have done to your Taco?
That’s got to be one of the cleanest 05’s I have seen.
Buying new factory parts can’t be cheap!
Oh, you didn’t post the part numbers for the 3rd. Gen oil filter mod.
