    @Taco critter

    If someone totals my truck as a result of their stupidity behind the wheel, it is going to take a lot of effort on my part to not go medieval on their ass...

    Today, I was making a recycling run from the building where I work in Ivyland to our main headquarters in Warminster. I was in the left lane, making a left turn from Louis Drive onto Street Road. There was a large truck in the right lane also making a right, which is legal. This was not a semi, just a large box truck that was likely heavy enough to require a CDL.

    The driver just suddenly decided he wanted to be in the left lane instead of the right and proceeded to change lanes even though I was right there. This was not a matter of a truck making a wide turn. With nowhere to go, I laid on the horn, and the moron kept coming into my lane. With nowhere to go, I scooted around him in the intersection and got in front of him, at which point he had the nerve to beep at me before getting into the right lane to make a right a right turn...

    o_O:annoyed:

    I was really angry at this point, so I opened the rear slider and gave him the one-finger salute as. I passed him in the left lane.

    If my dashcam picked up the "Safe Driver" sticker on the back of the truck, I am going to call the number and report him to his employer.

    My truck has been damaged in five different accidents that weren't my fault since March 2015, the most recent one being the metal pipe incident at the scrapyard in February of this year. I am SICK of stupid people damaging my truck!

    What does that have to do with anything? Driving 4 miles round trip to recycled cardboard doesn't count as work; And what's #2?

    Charlie, a little food for thought on this subject. Let's say you are using YOUR truck on a work related issue, on the clock, and something happens. Whose insurance is going to pay? Yours or your employer? Looking beyond the possible damage or destruction of your personal ride there is also the issue of covering possible medical expenses. If you're on the clock and in a company vehicle when shit goes sideways at least then all costs are on the employer and worker's comp. No one here is trying to dissuade you from doing anything just looking out for you as friends.

    Far be it from me to tell you what to do. If the parts are small enough to fit in my saddlebags on the bike I think nothing of delivering stuff to a customer job site myself. With what they pay for mileage I took a trip 2 years ago out to West Elizabeth, PA to drop off 4 mounting pins at a crane dealer we do repairs for and I got paid enough just in mileage to buy my next pair of tires. Plus the fact I was now being paid to go for a motorcycle ride.

    It was for ALL. We had a couple of cylinders here for repair and when they sent them in they left the mounting pins in them. Repair parts had a long lead time so they bought 2 new cylinders and needed the pins back in order to install them. They wanted us to arrange a truck to pick up 4 pins and deliver them to the West Elizabeth location. Our logistics guy reached out and got pricing and the quotes were just insane so I went out on the shop floor to see how big the pins were. For the work we do here these pins were very much on the smaller side. Roughly 12" long s 2.5" OD and about 10-15 pounds each. I tossed 2 in each saddlebag to make sure they'd fit, wrapped in shop rags to protect my bags and offered to take them out personally. They told me to take a pic of my odometer and stay on the clock, just run out and come back to clock out since I would be past my normal stop time. I can say that was a HIGHLY profitable day for me. 3 hours of overtime plus mileage x over 400 miles plus reimbursement for my EZPass use.

    I almost got sent to pick up a valve in Norfolk, VA once and man I wanted that trip!
